***14 Red Moons Later***

"You are too slow, FIGHT LIKE A WARRIOR!! E bu diké!! You are a warrior!"
His painful fist hit her side in a sharp blow, followed by another.

She did all she could to block the attacks but he was just like a cheetah.
The pitch dark skies of the night did nothing to help. The moon rays shone but they were hidden in the shades.

They could not afford to be caught.
"I am ashamed!"
He kicked her from behind, causing her to crash into a bush before bouncing back feeling dizzy.

"You fight like a shameless heir of a noble! You act like those future Alphas,Betas and Gammas! You are weak!"
The insults flew past her, making her angrier and angrier.

How dare he compare her to those filthy rats of power.
The anger burned up in her,she was always consumed by it.
In that blind fury, she charged at him.

He shifted to the side as gracefully as a gazelle before sweeping her feet off the ground.
In the blink of an eye,she had fallen.
Her back suffering the punishment of her carelessness.

"I have never been more disappointed. Our elders say that no matter how hot your anger is,it can not cook yam.
The strongest person among men is not he who fights everyone but he who controls his anger."

She spat out the blood from her mouth, before turning to look at him with a blank expression.
Why would she not show any expression but anger?
Cheta was worried.

The girl had mastered the art of dissimulation. Her feelings and emotions she had trained to conceal, over the years.
She was a force on her own, strong, determined and brutal.

But she lacked one thing.
Something that Cheta had tried and failed to build over the years.
She lacked a warrior's heart!

In the days of old and even till the present day, many thought that a warrior needed a heart of stone.
But that was a lie of the evil spirits.

A warrior needed a heart of flesh.
A heart that could feel and empathise.
A heart that could show emotions.

Aira laid flat on the ground, her hands behind her head as she looked up into the skies, trying to absorb the rays of the silver moon.
She felt drawn towards the silver beauty.
Her wolf felt more alive.

She felt a certain fire and peace. It was a confusing emotion. She wanted to drown in it,she wanted it to consume her.

"What do you feel?"
The dazzling man asked. Even though he was now 30 and 4 red moons,he had the appearance of a boy. His look was soft and beautiful, putting all to shame.

He used to be an Ijeoma to the lost princess.
The Alpha princess whom she had heard so many stories about,it was as if she had met her, personally.
"I have told you several times, I feel nothing!"
"You know you can talk to me about any..."
"I am fine,Cheta."

He noticed her double coloured skin through her tattered rags that barely covered her.
In the moonlight,it looked more like a charm.
Over the years, she had abandoned the teero and wore her skin the way she was born.

Locals and slaves had gotten used to her unusual skin colour.
They called her Okwu which meant fire.
Having a hot dark side and a bright yellow side.

That was who she was.
She had an aura of fire and a cold heart. Her exact replica was hot to anger and cold to feelings.

She was a moving sculpture.
A void of darkness. The pains over the years had moulded her into the shell she was.
"How's your mother?"
"She's faring."
She answered bluntly.

"Aira..."
"Maybe aside the knife stab wounds littered all over her back and the gnash on her head. She's doing really well."
Cheta sighed in frustration.
Ola had been molested again by her master.

Although Aira was a cold person, she could not stand the thought of her mother being hurt.
Her mother was the only reason she still fought.
Her mother was the reason she still drew breath.

"You are as feisty as her."
Aira scoffed and rolls her eyes.
She was tired of always being compared to this 'princess' whom she had never seen in her life. The one who ran away when Aira was only a child.

To her,the princess was a coward.
Leaving when things gets tough is what cowards do.
"I presume you mean the Alpha princess."
She said in scorn.

"Show her some respect, child!"
Cheta scolded her obvious disdain.
"She is the reason that you are ali..."

"She should have left me to die in that water pot! She should have set me ablaze with my parents!"
Aira's voice was bitter, holding anger and frustration she had for th world.

"MECHI-ONU! Be quiet!"
He stood up and pointed an accusing finger at her.
"NO,CHETA! SHE SHOULD HAVE LET ME DIE!"
She jumped to her feet and turned away from him,but he noticed her bright yellow eyes.
Cheta could see her fighting her wolf.

Her wolf was the rarest he had ever encountered. She had marvelled him all her life.
The slaves were fed wolf's bane to kill their wolves but Aira's wolf was a cunning one.

She played dead but Aira knew she was there. Cheta found out not too long after.
When he asked her how, she said nothing.

The animalistic sides of the werewolves were awoken by emotion.
That was why Cheta feared for her.
If her wolf was awoken by the emotion of anger, she could cause chaos both to herself and her loved ones.

She took a deep breath, pushing her wolf to the back of her mind.
Her eyes slowly changed back to it's normal brown hue.

"Is this what you call a life eh?"
Her voice now was so calm. So calm, you wouldn't even know she was speaking.
But she was boiling red hot in anger.

The greatest springs of Azuka would not be able to quench her rage.
"Training is over for today. Meet me here at midnight just as usual."
Cheta commanded before turning away.

"I wish you could know how special you are. The princess felt your aura. She has never been wrong about her feelings."
Ignoring Cheta's last words, she turned towards the opposite direction and begun sneaking back to the slaves' quarters.

She was not supposed to be out by now, especially not with a noble like Cheta.
But for the past 10 red moons, Cheta had to trained her not just in fighting but everything she needed in life.

She could not shake off the feeling that she was missing something.
The feeling that she was to be a part of something greater.
Could this be what Cheta had meant?

"They are waiting for you."
She jumped up in fright as she spotted the young boy standing a few feet away.
"Go home!" Were her only words before she continued walking.

She was too tired to notice the smile on his face before he disappeared into the trees like smoke.
Even though she tried to ignore it,those words were stuck in her head.

'They are waiting for you'!
