Khao felt like he had only blinked and the first week at school had passed. He'd been so worried that people would look at him oddly, or even that someone would figure out his secret and he'd be shunned. After all, how many girls get turned into boys by magic? And totally by accident?
Not many, hopefully.
Khao had done his best, observing the other guys in the school, and copying some of their gestures and habits. Walking came naturally, since his hips weren't as wide as a girl's would be, plus...yeah, he had a guy's parts, so it wasn't like he had to work on walking like a guy. He even eventually got used to not wearing a bra, feeling lighter and not as weighed down by clothes. Changing in the locker room for gym had been uncomfortable the first day, but after realizing that no one was looking at him and they were all focusing on changing their own clothes and showering, he just changed quickly without trying to hide his body anymore. Really, what was the point now that he was a guy? They all had the same parts, so there was nothing new for them to see.
Khao stepped under the shower head, washing away the build-up of sweat from that day's gym class. He glanced to the side, smirking when he noticed Maew covertly checking out Moji. Moji, as oblivious as ever, was swaying side to side while showering, humming a song. Khao bit back a laugh, finishing his shower and wrapping a towel around his hips. As he went by Maew, he said softly enough for only Maew to hear, "Make a move already, man." Before Maew could respond, Khao was already gone from the shower area and back at his locker.
A couple minutes later, Khao was back in his uniform and standing outside the locker room, waiting on his friends. First out was Maew, looking disgruntled. He eyed Khao suspiciously. Khao smirked and waggled his fingers teasingly in return.
Boy, the look on Maew's face was priceless! Like he didn't know quite what to make of Khao, and possibly considering whether to punch him or laugh at him.
Then Moji came out. "Let's go get some lunch. I'm starving!"
Khao fell into step with Moji as Maew followed closely behind, glancing at Khao with thoughtful look every so often. Moji said Khao should save the table for them, and offered to buy his lunch if he would. Not about to pass up a free meal, Khao quickly agreed and zipped to a nearby table, waving the others on.
"Khao?"
He looked up, immediately smiling at Star. "Hey, Star."
She smiled back, settling across from him. She'd already gotten a tray of food. "I wanted to know if you knew that football tryouts were today?"
He blinked. "They are?? How come this is the first I'm hearing it?"
"The school has an announcement board on their website. They also have a bulletin board outside the offices, if you know where to look," she explained to him. "Didn't anyone tell you about any of this??"
Khao shook his head slowly. "No. Papa only told me he got me the boy's uniform, but my schedule was the same."
Star frowned. "Hmm. That's odd. Someone should have told you. The school makes some pretty important announcements sometimes. Knowing about the website and the board is practically mandatory around here."
Khao raised his eyebrows at her, a small smile playing around the corners of his mouth. "Mandatory, eh?"
"Aish!" Star swatted at him, but he dodged her hand, laughing. "Smart mouth!"
"You wouldn't love me any other way," Khao teased her back.
Star merely shook her head at him, and started eating her lunch. Moji and Maew soon joined the table, digging into their food. Khao was relieved Moji had gotten him the chicken and rice, and not something disgusting. Knowing Moji, he would've done it on purpose, if only to get a reaction out of Khao.
