"Heads up!"

Nin squinted up into the bright sky, trying to find the football that Tee had just punted into the air. Instead, he blinded himself. Grumbling, he rubbed at his eyes, then tried looking again, just in time for the ball to miss his head by a mere half foot. He stared incredulously at Tee, grinning from the other end of the football field, while the ball thumped to the ground and bounced a couple times before rolling to a stop.

"Maybe next time, don't aim for my head, eh?" Nin wasn't amused.

"Gotta get my fun before we graduate and have to start university, my friend," Tee called, jogging out to where Nin was. "We won't have time for football anymore, what with Engineering classes and hazing. Can you believe we're going to be bossed around next term?" Tee shook his head. "Starting to wish I hadn't applied for Engineering with you. I wanted to do Law, but you insisted we not split the group up. Selfish."

"The rest of us were going for Engineering, so it made no sense for you to be the odd man out."

Tee shot him a disbelieving look. "I hate Engineering. I don't want to study it. I'm just glad it's not too late to change my major."

Nin rolled his eyes. "Whatever. But we won't be able to hang like we do now. Hazing and classes will take up the majority of our time."

"You think I'll be hurting for company? My cousin, Sun, is going into Law as well. I'll be fine."

"Why do you want to be a lawyer, anyway??" Nin couldn't understand it. Tee hadn't ever talked about being a lawyer until this year.

Tee made a face. "I actually wanted to be a police officer, but my family was adamant that I do something safer.

Nin understood. Tee's older brother had died in the line of duty as a police officer, on a raid at a drug house. He and three other cops had lost their lives that day. Tee's family was still grieving for him, since that had only happened in Tee's first year of upper secondary.

"So, I chose becoming a lawyer," Tee went on, walking over to the football and picking it, turning it in his hands absentmindedly. "My mae is so relieved and proud. My phor wanted to be a lawyer, but he never had enough money for university. I'm fortunate to have a scholarship that pays for the majority of my school expenses."

"That's cool," Nin smiled. He didn't need the scholarship, since his family was well off, and he didn't have three younger siblings that were also being put through school, like Tee.

"So, think we'll beat that Chiang Mai school?" Tee changed the subject.

Nin shrugged. "I don't know. I heard they have a killer goalie that stops every ball, no matter where it comes from. You might have to up your game."

Tee was pleased. "Finally, a real challenge. I've been so bored out of my mind in the goalie box, since you yahoos won't let the ball come my way even once."

"We're not gonna risk a goal, regardless of how bored you are," Nin made a face at him.

"P'Nin! P'Tee!"

Tee screwed up his face in mock disgust. "Ugh, here comes your faen. Love cooties."

Nin growled at him, then turned and couldn't stop the huge smile from appearing at the sight of his boyfriend, Khao.

Khao came running up to them, panting slightly from the run. "Hey, you guys practicing?"

"Mm, we were," Tee said, glancing slyly at Nin. "But...now I think it's time for me to vanish."

Khao looked at Tee blankly. "Whatever for? I want to practice with both of you."

Nin wanted to strangle Tee at his suggestive laughter. "Honey, I don't think you could ever handle us both."
