ENGLAND AIRPORT

14 hours later and we land on the beautiful place of England, the home birth of Queen Elizabeth. God I'm living the dream,my fathers dream.
We wanted to move here,so they could be close to me when I go to uni. But now I'm alone,I have no one and I have to make ends meet,on my own.

I'll be a doctor then get mom to move here with me,seven years is just a few years ahead of us. In no time we will be together, without dad but together and happy.

I have to hail a taxi to take me to the dorm, but I don't even know where to head to. I try to search in my bag for the address then I bump into something,or rather someone.

"Oh I'm so sorry, please forgive me." I look straight into his eyes and I think I have been put into a spell. I can't seem to move my eyes from him, this beautiful creature in front of me. Too good to be true but yet I see him and my hands are on his hard chest. Chest. His chest. " I'm sorry."I move as fast as I can from him,he has an angry face on.

"Next time look where you're going." He rudely says in his british accent then walks away.

What a rude guy, devilishly handsome but still rude. I look at him as he walks outside the airport then gets into a blacks audi. I follow into the direction he went to look for a taxi,my mother made sure to get me into a dorm right before I landed. She send the address on my phone, right now I just have to hail for a taxi.

30 minutes later I'm in a taxi and headed to my dream school,or varsity in my situation.

"Hello miss, where to?" The driver asks in an African accent, he's a dark handsome young man probably in his 20s.

"Hey,can you please take me to Oxford,I've been waiting here for almost an hour." I explain to him.

"OK pretty lady."

"Thank you so much." I thank him as I look for the address on my phone.

"You're not from around here are you?" He asks me.

"No I'm not,how can you tell?" I jokingly ask him and we both laugh at my excuse of a joke.

"Are you by any chance from South Africa?" He knowingly asks.

"Yes I am." I answer honestly.

"you look familiar, Dr Mokoana, are you by any chance his daughter?" He again knowingly asks.

Just great, when I thought I was finally free from being the daughter of Dr Mokoana in Turf, I still am even hundreds miles away from home. I want to be Amanda Mokoana, not Dr Mokoana's daughter.

"Yes that would be me."I answer him.

"I'm really sorry for your loss, your father was a great man, atleast from what we heard from the tablots."

My father, Dr Amos Mokoana, a great man indeed. His work was known all over the world, he was gonna be one of those who won a nobel price. But then God remembered him too soon, car accident when he was coming from India. We hadn't seen him for two weeks and when he finally comes home he doesn't make it.

"Thanks. So how far are we to Oxford?" I try to change the subject,I hate talking about dad,I never got to say goodbye to him and people talking about him just makes things worse, things that go on in my mind and heart.

"Just a few kilos then we'll be there."

...............................

Patrick got me to the dorm 15 minutes later,I got to learn that my drivers from Nigeria and his name is Patrick. He's the first person that I met here who is actually nice, maybe its because he's not from around here.

I stand in front of the building that reads Oxford university dorm, far besides it is the school campus, just as beautiful as the dorm. I step inside the building carrying my bags then I bump into a blonde girl who could play Barbie if needed in a movie.

"I'm sorry." I apologize to her.

"Look where you're going bimbo." She aggressively says to me.

Her manners take me back to the airport with that rude guy, like I said before, looks like everyone in England is just so rude.

"I said I was sorry miss." And you're the bimbo, I wanted to say but I wasn't gonna level myself to her.

"She's African." One of her friends I didn't notice were there says.

"Has your country ran out of universities that you choose ours? Go back home and leave us in peace already." The blonde says to me.

"OK Barbie,I've had just about enough of you, this is a free country and I'm allowed to go wherever the hell I want." I say to her as I make a move to go.

"That little..." I hear her say but I don't wait for her to finish.

I so wish Jess was here, she knows how to deal with girls like her. If I get into it with her then all hell will break, and trust me she wouldn't want to see that side of me.

I move to the reception without giving a look at her, the reception lady kindly assists me then sends me to my room. She gave me a key which had the number 201,meaning I'll be on the second floor. I went straight to the elevator in the reception then choose the second floor.

When I get to the floor my room is the second one, the first one is open and has a two girls who are busy talking and non of them recognize me.

"Hi guys." I decide to greet them and they both turn to look in my direction.

The one in dark complexion smiles at me as she moves to the door, black american I assume.

"Oh hey, are you new here?" She asks me.

"Yes just got here a few hours ago from South Africa." I answer her,and she has a British accent.

"Wow thats interesting, I'm Anastasia, she's my friend Lucy." She introduces herself and her friend who is busy on the phone.

Lucy which is her friend moves to the door also, unlike Anastasia she is white and has red bushy hair,it suits her. Ana is also so beautiful, mix color just like mine." Hey." She greets me.

"I'm Amanda." I say." I'll be your next door neighbor.

"Well then that means we have to be friends." Ana suggests.

"I would really like that." I smile at them as I agree to be their friend.

"Well then friend, you have to get ready because there is a freshman's party going on at seven in the evening." Lucy says.

"Party?" I ask just to be sure.

They both look at me then laugh." Yes party,it is happening at the school grounds." Ana explains.

Well I'm new and school will only begin on Monday,so I have the whole weekend to mingle with everyone and get to know the place.

"OK I'm in,its Friday after all." I agree to their plans.

"Great, now go get ready." Ana pushes me to my room.

I unlock the door to my new home for the next seven years. Home sweet home.
