The Mourning

It had been a few days since Ilsa had passed away now, and Ethan was still struggling to come to terms with everything that had happened. He blamed himself for her death as he was the one who invited her to join the IMF. Every second of every day Ilsa was in Ethan's mind she never left, even though she had gone Ethan would never stop loving her as she was the best thing that had ever happened to him.

Benji and Luther were living in Ethan's apartment so that they could check on him because they knew how much this had impacted his life. Even though Ethan begged them to leave, Benji and Luther knew they could not do that, and deep down Ethan really needed them. Ethan kept having flash backs of his and Ilsa's amazing moments together, even though he had only known her for a few days it felt like a lifetime to him. Her smile lit up the entire world, it would make anyone around her happy. Her perfume scent still brushed past Ethan and made tears stream from his delicate face every time. He knew that he needed to act strong and carry on with his life without her, but that was harder than ever.

A few weeks later

Benji and Luther noticed a huge change to Ethan he seemed like he was back to his old self again, which they thought was a good thing. However, what they did not know was how much Ethan was struggling without Ilsa. He decided to put on a brave face in front of Benji and Luther but underneath he was fading away. He was not sleeping or eating, he was constantly stressing and thinking about Ilsa. Ethan knew acting this way was not healthy for him but he could not see another way to deal with everything that had happened. Benji and Luther both thought that Ethan was coping completely fine so they just acted as if nothing had happened, they thought that they had got their good old Ethan back again. Of course they will never forget about Ilsa as they were just as upset as Ethan when they found out about her death.

So with Benji and Luther thinking that Ethan is doing okay they asked him when he would be returning to work. Ethan looked at them with tearful eyes and could not get his words out. Benji worriedly stated "Ethan are you alright? If it's too soon you don't have to come back" He looked at Benji and said "no, no I want to come back" Luther asked "Are you sure?" "I've never been more sure of anything" Ethan stated. Deep down Ethan was shaking uncontrollably thinking of how he was going to manage coming back to work. He forced a smile out and rang the IMF to tell them that he was ready to return.
