As I stood on the door, I found Raghav pacing from one end of the room to another. A touch of confusion passed my face, why he seemed stressed?
"Raghav!" Grabbing his attention. On noticing my presence his anxiety only grew. With a puzzled expression, I walked inside.
"Sid! You got any answers?" Staring at me with underlying hope. "A day to go, and we will walk back to Mumbai. We need to plan something!" Suggested, Raghav anticipating a positive reply.
"At the minute concern is the haldi ceremony taking place," I halt the discussion. "Everyone down is waiting for you, let's go..." Was on the verge to move but Raghav held my elbow.
"Don't fake your calmness! I know you're dying inside. Can't you forget my happiness for once?"
"I can ask you the same," turning irritated with his compelling nature. "It's your wedding function going on, enjoy it." Paused seeing I was losing my calm. Held his shoulder, "stop stressing about me."
He jerked my hand away, "I can't! As I know how precious is her presence beside you. I know you don't want to spoil my pre-wedding ceremony. But I promise you, Sid." A determined look replaced his notorious one. And soon he walked out of the room, I knew he would make his mind to something huge. I was scared as he would go to any extreme for my happiness, one of the decisions was to leave for Canada.
He had sensed it, his presence around mom only drift us apart. So the decision to moving to Canada was taken, I had rebuked him for it but he hadn't listened to me at that moment and I knew he won't.
I strolled behind him, walking aimlessly. Things were messing up rather than sorting! "Hey!" I heard Kiran's voice and shook my head.
Why was she even invited? "I was searching for you... Your mom..." She was going to continue but finding an excuse, I walked away.
"Mom! How could I forget?" I descended, glancing at mom's figure she was busy with the arrangements. I was going to step towards her but my path was hindered by Shehbaaz.
"What kind of friend do you have? Why does she keep on fighting?"
"It's your act that forces, me to act such. Problem is not in me but you..." I looked away, Sara walked towards us. "Don't try to get Sid by your side, he will always support me over any. He is not like my cruel brother," glaring at Raghav at distance.
"But why are you both fighting? What is the topic?" As it was their daily routine, they had to once a day.
"That our team won! He is denying the fact," Sara rolled her eyes.
"Siddharth what made the function halt? Sana fainting so... In the end, there was no winner."
"Even if Sana hadn't come, none could compete with Sid's singing." Raising her imaginary collar, my mind diverted back to Sana.
"Yes, none can compete with him..." Pressing his smile behind, I glared at him. He was making fun of my singing skills.
"Where is Sana?" As I found no clue of her around us.
"Sana!" The sudden hit of realization made Sara glance at her surrounding. I gave her a stern look, "I! I was standing along with her when Shehbaaz arrived there. Later I got so engrossed in a debate that..." I signaled her to pause.
"Hadn't expected such a behavior." Glimpsed at Shehbaaz, he seemed out of words as if lost. I could never trust her with anyone, gazing at her in fury.
"You were aware of her condition! You're a medical student soon turning a doctor..." I wasn't concealing my disappointment from her. She should be aware of her irresponsible behavior.
"Hmm... Sid, I..." I walked away ignoring her sentence, for me, the priority was to search Sana. Where would she be? Lost in such a big crowd! Mr. Gill wasn't wrong as he denied her presence in the accumulated crowd, she wasn't meant for the function.
There wasn't a clue of her in the entire hall, I was turning anxious with each passing second. She was mentally not fit to be left among an unfamiliar crowd. But the confusing part was, she won't go away with a stranger.
Either she would be alone wandering or with someone familiar. As I stepped out of the hall, found a guy whom I would describe as an unknown face. He was beside Sana, she was smiling at his talks. An unexpected scene was before me.
Who was he? And why was Sana so comfortable with him beside her? I walked towards them, something burning inside. I couldn't tolerate her with a stranger.
"And Sana you know... Later..." I found him stopped, as he saw me.
"You?" Eyeing a questioning look, "do you need any help?" He questioned, I glanced at Sana for once. Her smile disappeared from getting a glimpse of me. That sight did break my heart, who was the new character in our life?
"Came here in search of her... You?" Implanting the same question towards him.
"Sana, you know him?" He wasn't convinced by my response. Sana gave a slight nod bowing her head, "oh!" Darting his gaze back on me.
"Don't get me wrong! I..." I gestured him to stop, wasn't appreciating his vibes.
"Never mind!" I was going to take Sana along with me but he objected to my steps.
His British accent was triggering me, "she won't desire the crowd. Let her be in peace with the nature surrounding." I fisted my hand in frustration. Who was he to suggest to me?
"Her sister wants her to be beside her during the ceremony. And I don't think, Sana would have any problem if I am beside her." Expressing it loud and clear, not desiring to leave Sana with some foreigner like him.
I took Sana inside, more furious at her. "Who was that guy?" She gifted me with silence. It was only turning me more furious as flashes of her smiling face before him, brushed before my eyes.
She won't mind smiling before him but had a problem with answering me.
