~MENG YAO'S POV~

Four years. That's how long he had an affair with his commander.

Four months. That's how long it took for him to kill said commander.

Four days, that's how long he had before he fell in love with Sect Leader Nie.

Four hours, that's how long he cried over said leader.

Four minutes, that's how long it took to replace Nie Mingjue.

-------

"A-Yao," a gruff voice called, motioning for him to come inside.

Meng Yao nodded, slipping into the room before closing the door behind him. "Should I put on a silencing talisman?" he asked, already pulling one out of his sleeve.

"Yes."

Meng Yao let out a sly smile, quickly slapping the charm on before sashaying his way over to Nie Mingjue. "I missed you A-Jue," he murmured, plopping down on Nie Mingjue's lap. "You never make time for me now," he pouted, caressing the sharp lines of his lover's face.

Nie Mingjue grunted, laying his hands possessively on Meng Yao's waist. His face was hungry and there was a lustful look in his eyes. He gently cupped Meng Yao's face, bringing his head down for a fiery kiss.

"A-Yao..." he muttered, "I missed you too."

Meng Yao beamed, gazing at the endearing look in his lover's eyes. He felt the love surge through him, a sense of joy and peace filling him. He looked at him, a tender smile on his face. Oh what he wouldn't give for this man. What he wouldn't do to have him by his side. Nie Mingjue was a harsh and coarse man. He was a brute, a rough and insensitive bear of a man. He had this intensity to him, a scowl and cruel frown on his face when he trained his disciples. He was an easily angered man, one that had a ruthless streak and relentless personality. But he was also gentle, also capable of being just as caring and loving as he was with Meng Yao. He often had this spaced out and confused look on his face, not quite understanding what to say. Mingjue was beautiful, his broad shoulders and tense muscles in clear contrast to his own small frame. He was sweet, a kind and soft type of shy. He was tender, a sympathetic man underneath his gruff exterior.

He was an oaf alright- but he was Meng Yao's oaf.

Meng Yao shot him a shy smile, "I love you, you know that right?" he whispered, gently leaning down to peck Nie Mingjue's cheek.

The other man blushed, a bright red flush blooming over his cheeks. "I- I love you too," he spluttered, pulling Meng Yao close to his chest. The younger man beamed when he heard the fast pounding of Mingjue's heart, and turned his face to press a gentle kiss above his ribcage.

"Should I go? You need to get work done," he pouted, already disliking the idea of leaving his lover.

"No," Mingjue declared, shaking his head, "You can sit on my lap while I work."

Meng Yao's eyes lit up. He hurriedly pushed the Nie Sect Leader down and straddled him, wrapping his arms around his neck. Pressing light kisses against his throat, he tangled his fingers in his lover's hair.

Mingjue gave another grunt, hands coming up on Meng Yao's hips. "Stop it," he growled, shivering from the wet tongue on his neck. "I won't ever be able to finish if you act like this," he scolded, trying and failing to sound angry.

Meng Yao paid him no mind, content on leaving hickeys along the length of the older man's neck. He could cover it up as mosquito bites later.

"Meng Yao!"
