"What do you think you are doing?"

"Ah, Lan Zhan..." Wei Ying laughed nervously, "Nothing, It's nothing really," he tittered, frantically trying to pull down his rolled up pant leg.

He winced at the expression on Lan Zhan's face. He looked so enraged that Wei Ying half expected to see tendrils of smoke coming from his nostrils.

"Heh, Lan Zhan, what a coincidence," Wei Ying mumbled, desperately trying to think of an excuse. "Ah, you mean this?" he muttered when he looked up to see Lan Zhan's face. "I must've accidently picked this curse up back when we were in the Man- Eating Ridge. Ah how clumsy of me."

Lan Zhan just glowered at him and proceeded to unceremoniously lock his arms under Wei Ying's legs and lift him up, so he could prop Wei Ying's head on his chest.

Jin Ling's mouth dropped open at the sight, and he looked at Wei Ying in shock. Han-Guang Jun hated contact. He never touched anyone unless it out of absolute necessity. So for him to see the usually stern and stoic Han-Guang Jun, willingly hold a cut-sleeve lunatic in his arms? Jin Ling almost fainted on the spot.

Lan Zhan turned towards Jin Ling and gave him an icy glare. His eyes said, 'Why are you still here? Can't you see how pissed I am?'  Jin Ling shivered under Han-Guang Jun's hostile gaze and immediately scrambled up to flee. As he ran, he thought 'Who on earth is this Mo Xuanyu? Why did he save me? And why does he seem so familiar with Han-Guang Jun?'

--------

"Ahh Lan Zhan put me down!" Wei Ying yelped as Lan Zhan carried him in his arms.

"No," Lan Zhan glared, securing his arms around Wei Ying's waist. He was furious with Wei Ying. 'How could he be so stupid as to transfer the curse mark onto himself? Wei Ying was already so weak! If the curse attacked while he was alone... No. Lan Zhan didn't even want to think about that. He would protect his Wei Ying. He would make sure Wei Ying was alright.'

With that in mind, Lan Zhan's glare softened slightly and his arms tightened around Wei Ying, gently cradling him in his embrace.

Wei Ying huffed and pleaded, "Please Lan Zhan? Put me down... I don't want anyone to see us like this..."

Hurt flashed through Lan Zhan's amber eyes. He tenderly set Wei Ying down before casting his eyes downwards. He looked so crestfallen that Wei Ying couldn't help but feel sorry for him.

"S-So you don't want people to see us?" Lan Zhan stuttered, the fear evident in his voice.

Wei Ying's breath caught. Of course he wanted to be seen with Lan Zhan! He wanted nothing more than to cuddle in those arms, to feel the sense of security and comfort wrap around him like a blanket.

But he couldn't. Because he and Lan Zhan? They weren't going to work out anyways. And it was better for Wei Ying to cut all ties now rather than later.

"No." Wei Ying whispered brokenly, "I don't."

Lan Zhan grabbed his arms, gently shaking him, "You're lying." he pleaded.

"No." Wei Ying replied, eyes watering, "I'm not."

Lan Zhan's hand tightened on Wei Ying's shoulder, and agony etched itself onto his features. Wei Ying's heart twisted at the sight.

"Lan Zhan?" Wei Ying asked, his heart wrenching itself apart in his chest, "I'm sorry..."

Lan Zhan took a deep breath and was silent for a moment, "It's ok," he suddenly said, "I'll wait," he added, resolve hardening his tone.
