Morgan's PoV
"Alright, in the car now Morgan, say goodbye to Daryl." Mom said as she approached us. We were getting ready to leave Atlanta and head for Fort Benning. Daryl and I had been talking about tracking and had been teaching me as best he could without us actually going into the woods.
"Cya Daryl." I waved and followed my mom to the car, I climbed in the trunk and looked out the window. We had decided to cut the amount of cars we had to save fuel. We were only bringing Carols Cherokee, the RV and Daryl's motorbike.
When we were all in the car dad twisted the key and followed the RV which was following Daryl's Motorbike. "I've been thinking of our trip to the Grand Canyon." Mom said a few minuets into the car ride.
When did we go to the Grand Canyon?
"I don't remember that." Carl said and I nodded.
"You wouldn't. You were only babies." Mom said. "Anyway we didn't even make it, Carl got sick."
"I never knew a baby could throw up so much." Dad laughed. "The doctor in Texas told us he'd live and we turned around and went back home."
"Can we go see it? The Grand Canyon? I'd like to." Carl said and I nodded.
"I would too. Can we go?" Sophia asked.
"We'd never go without you and your mom. That's a promise." Dad told her looking at her in the mirror.
After a while of driving we stopped on a highway. "Everyone out, lets go see what the problem is." Dad said turning the key and stopping the engine. I grabbed the handle of the boot and opened it so I could get out.
As we approached the others outside the RV I heard Dale say, "I said it. Didn't I say it? A thousand times. Dead in the water."
"Problem, Dale?" Dad asked the old man, "Just a small matter of being stuck in the middle of nowhere with no hope of... okay, that was dumb." Dale said.
"If you can't find a radiator hose here..." Shane trailed off looking around at the cars, they were backed up from miles, we weren't getting through here anytime soon.
"There's a whole bunch of stuff we can find." Daryl said searching through the open trunk of one of the cars.
"I can siphon more fuel from these cars for a start." T told us.
"Maybe some water." Carol said hopefully, "Or food." Glenn added eagerly.
"This is a graveyard. I don't know how I feel about this." Wow Mom, way to be a downer.
"All right, all right, here we go."
"Come on, y'all. Just look around, gather what you can."
Mom and Carol took the three of us to look in some cars, as we passed one mom and Carol looked in and nearly threw up. "Kids, don't look." Carol said, now who tells three children not to look at something?
Obviously, I looked in the window of the car and saw the corpse of a walker, flies buzzed around it and the stench was awful. I scrunched my nose and continued walking.
Mom and Carol began to dig around in some cars so Carl, Sophia and I walked on a bit further looking ourselves. "Carl, Morgan, always within my sight okay?" I heard mom, I nodded and continued looking in through the very dirty and dusty car windows.
A little down the road I heard Shane and Glenn laughing and the sound of water falling. I looked up and saw a truck full of huge bottles of water. That could keep us alive for a while, if Shane stops waisting it and using it as a shower.
