Morgan's PoV

Dad had left me with Glenn and some others when Ty came over, ranting about Karen and David. He, Daryl and Carol took off after the man and I spent my time digging graves. Glenn had given me a bandana to use as a mask and Maggie had given me some gloves.

I was on my third grave now and the task was still as boring as it was when I started. The sun was burning down on us and all I could think about was how all those people were dead and I was digging the place their bodies would spend eternity.

———

"Morgan, c'mon!" Daryl shouted over to me. I looked up at him in confusion, "Where am I going?" I asked, walking over to him, "Come join the council meeting, your dad asked me to bring you."

"But I'm not a council member." I said.

"No, but someone needs to watch you, just incase you get sick and your dads doing something, so c'mon." He told me, putting a hand on my shoulder and leading me inside.

———

I sat on a chair in between Carol and Daryl, listening as the council spoke, "It's spread." Hershel told them, "Everyone in cell block D who had survived the attack. Sasha, Caleb, others."

"Oh, Jesus." Daryl shook his head.

"So what do we do now?" Carol asked.

"First things first, Cell block A is isolation. We keep the sick people there, just like we tried with Karen and David." Cause that went well the first time. I mean, someone literally killed them, dragged them outside and set their bodies on fire.

"What're we gonna do about that?" Daryl asked.

"Ask Rick to look into it." Carol said, "Try to come up with a timeline... who was where and when. But how are we gonna stop this? What do we do?"

"There is no stopping it." Hershel told her, "If you get it, then you have to go through it."

"But it just kills you?" Michonne asked.

"The illness doesn't." He shook his head, "It's the symptoms that do. For those, we need antibiotics."

"We've been through every pharmacy nearby."

"There's a veterinary college at West Peachtree Tech," Hershel told us all, "Maybe people didn't think to raid the place for medical supplies. The drugs they used for animals there are the same kind that we need."

"That's 50 miles." Daryl said, "It wasn't worth the risk before. But it is now. I'll take a group out." He stood up from his chair, "Best not waste any more time."

"I'll come." Michonne offered.

"You haven't been exposed, Daryl has. If you get in a car with him..."

"He's already given me fleas." She smiled, Hershel laughed and stood up as well, "I can lead the way. I know where everything's kept."

Daryl looked around before speaking, "When we go out there it's always the same, sooner or later we always end up running."

Hershel got the memo, "I can draw you up a map." Daryl nodded and started heading out before Hershel spoke again, "There are other precautions that we should take."

"Like what?"

"Like separating the most vulnerable. We can use the administration building. Separate office, separate room." The old man explained.

Glenn interjected, "Who is the most vulnerable?"

"The very young. The other children, Morgan over there, we can keep her in a separate office then the rest."
