⚠️TW: Mentions Of Suicide⚠️

Morgan's PoV

A week had passed since the morning that Randall was brought back. Dad and Shane had headed out, first thing this morning to take him away. When I woke up he was already gone, mom wasn't there either, probably helping with chores. Carl was still sleeping, snoring lightly.

I quickly got changed, putting on a clean pair of jeans and a plain button up shirt. I attached the badge to my belt and tied the laces on my shoes. I left the tent and walked towards the fire, T-Dog handed me a plate of food and I thanked him, sitting down on a garden chair.

When I was finished I went over to the RV, climbing up and sitting next to Dale. "Good morning Miss Grimes." He smiled at me.

"Mornin' Dale."

I spent the rest of my morning sitting with Dale, talking about nothing in particular and looking through the binoculars, helping him keep watch. "Morgan!" I heard Carl shout.

I turned my head and looked down at my brother, "Come down will you? I'm bored." I sighed and handed the binoculars to Dale, saying goodbye before hopping down the ladder.

Mom rushed past the two of us who were sat in the shade of a tree reading comics. She ran towards Andrea, asking where Hershel or Maggie had gone then ran back to the house. "That was strange." I said. Carl nodded and we returned to reading.

A little while after, Andrea came back with Maggie and Glenn and they all headed straight for the house. "What is going on?"

"I have no idea."

———

I left Carl and walked towards the house, sitting on the porch and looking out at the path, hoping to see the car with Dad and Shane driving back.

Instead I saw Andrea running towards the house, the front door burst open and Maggie stormed out, mom following behind her. "Where were you?" Maggie asked Andrea.

"I heard, is she alright?" Andrea replied. I furrowed my eyebrows, hopping up and standing next to mom.

"She would be if you had stayed with her." Maggie said, "Where were you?" She repeated

"How bad is she?"

"It wasn't deep."

Andrea sighed in relief, "She wants to live, she made her decision." I had a confused look plastered on my face. "She tried to kill herself." Maggie responded. "No she didn't." Andrea was adamant.

"My father is stitching her wrist right now."

"She'll live." Andrea went to walk past Maggie but she blocked her, "Stay away from her. From both of us. Don't you dare step food inside this house again." Andrea looked at Maggie before shifting to mom. Then she turned and walked away.

"I'm not gonna say she was right," Mom turned to Maggie, "But Beth has made her choice. She wants to live and now she knows it. And sometimes you have to cross the line." Maggie said nothing in response, opening the door and going inside.

Mom sighed before looking down at me, "And how are you today?" She asked, smiling.

"I'm okay." I nodded, "When's dad getting back?"

"I don't know baby." She whispered, "Soon, I hope." I nodded once more and she went inside, I returned to the chair on the porch.

———

They were back now, returned with Randall still in the trunk of the car. Apparently, he had gone to school with Maggie and knew where we were so letting him go wasn't an option any more.
