Morgan's PoV
My lungs were burning and my legs ached as I ran but I didn't slow down, instead, as we got closer I sped up. The horn was still going and I knew that whatever had happened wasn't good. "Come on. Come on. Just a little further." I muttered to myself, "Please be okay, please. Hurry up!" I shouted over my shoulder to the man behind me.
I knew that the horn must be drawing the walkers from the road and leading them straight to our doorstep and as soon as Alexandria came into view we could see what had caused it.
A truck had crashed into the wall next to the guard tower and something must've been leaning on the horn switch. Spencer was climbing down from the tower as Morgan 2.0 opened the truck door and killed the walker inside, subsequently knocking off the horn, as I walked around the truck to the other side.
"What the hell happened?" I asked Spencer, I could hear shouts and screams coming from inside the walls, it obviously wasn't good in there.
"Someone, a group, they got in. They're killing people."
"We need to get in there." I said, looking at the man who remained still, "Great." I muttered.
"Hide." Morgan 2.0 said before we both took off again, running to the gate of the community and passing through. Straight away I could see the bodies that lined the floor, a man stood over one, hacking away.
I rose my gun but Morgan 2.0 held his stick up, "Go. I've got this." He said and I nodded, immediately running in the direction of our house.
I rounded the corner, seeing Ron getting chased by a guy with a knife, I rose my gun to shoot but was beat to it by my brother. I sighed in relief at the sight of him at the house, Enid was behind him and it was safe to guess that Judy was okay.
I started jogging over, watching as Carl walked closer to the injured man on the floor. "Please! Man, please don't kill me!" I heard him plead.
Carl seemed to lower his gun slightly and the man pounced up, grabbing hold of my brother who struggled against him. I rose my gun and shot the man in the head, alerting them to my presence.
"Morgan!"
I ran over to my brother, swinging an arm around his shoulders, "Miss me?" I asked and he rolled his eyes before looking at Ron, "Come inside, we can protect you."
Ron looked at the two of us before up at the house where Enid was stood. He looked back at Carl with an angry look, "No." He said, walking past us.
"Alright then, die, I guess." I said, beginning to head up to the house, "Afternoon, Enid." I slipped past the girl as she shouted for Carl and headed straight into the kitchen, "God, I'm starving."
———
"Hey Morgan, have you seen Enid?" Carl asked, entering Judy's bedroom where I was sat. I looked up from the series of toys strewn around the two of us and shook my head, "Isn't she downstairs?" I asked and he shook his head.
I stood up, "I'll be back in a minuet, Judy." I said, following my brother downstairs.
"See, she's gone." He said.
"Erm, Carl? There's a note here." I said, crouching down to pick up the piece of paper and handing it to my brother.
'Just survive somehow' was written across the paper. He looked at it for a minuet before folding it up and putting it in his pocket.
"You okay?" I asked him, "I know you liked her but it's what she wanted. She'll be alright, she knows how to survive." He nodded and I walked forwards, wrapping him in a hug, "I guess the world turns to shit when I'm not here, huh?"
