(A/N: Sorry for not updating. I was either busy, sick, recovering from being busy, or lazy. For weather reasons, I got off of school. I will try my best to keep up with my normal update schedule (: )
~Claire's POV~
The next Monday, I mourn going to school. I don't know what will happen. With Liam, Niall, or anything, really. So much stuff has been going on. I sometimes wish I could just go back to New York and stay there. Like nothing ever happened. I crawl out of bed and start getting ready for whatever this day has in store.
"How was you weekend?" Ashley asks as I get on the bus.
I shrug, "Normal."
"I met Harry's parents," She tells me with the hugest smile on her face.
"Judging by your smile, it went well."
"It was perfect, Claire! His parents are super sweet and accepting. I felt like part of the family."
"Thats great," I smile.
Eventually, we get to school. Ashley heads to Harry like a magnet, so I just go to my locker. I notice the blonde boy, punching his locker.
"You okay, Niall?" I ask.
"This stupid locker won't open."
"What's the combination?"
"23-2-16"
I put the combination in on the locker, and it opens.
"Thanks," He says quietly, and gets his books out.
"You okay?" I ask.
"Its just... him"
I sigh, not even having to ask who he's talking about.
"Im sorry, Niall,"
"It's not your fault, I just don't know why he chose you and Demi. Of all people, he choses my only friend and the girl I lo- like."
"I don't know..."
We stand in silence for a bit, then I get my books, and say, "We'll talk about this in English, Okay?"
He gives me a sharp nod, and walks off.
I start heading to class when I see, him. He's with Demi, but all seems well. They're smiling, laughing, as if the entire kiss never happened. He gives her a peck on the lips, and starts walkig off to class. He spots me, and turns away... I don't know whether I'm happy he didn't talk to me, or heartbroken. One part of me just wants to kiss and cuddle the boy and keep him to myself, while another wants to slap him and yell until he runs away. Instead of doing either, I head to first hour.
The first few hours of the day are pretty normal. Except for the fact that I haven't seen Louis. I check my phone, nothing. I search the cafiteria and find the blue eyed boy in his normal spot. He sees me, smiles, and motions for me to come sit next to him. Of course, I go.
"Hey, babe." He says and pecks my cheek, as I blush, of course.
"Hey, Lou."
"I have a question to ask you," He tells me.
"Okay, ask."
"Since you didn't get to go on that date with me, we should do something after school."
I need to get my mind off of Liam. Off the kiss. I also need him to know that he can't mess with me, especially if I'm taken...
"That sounds awesome," I tell Lou and grin.
"Sweet," he says.
The rest of lunch goes by like its nothing. I talk to Emma and Ashley without worry. Its like a huge weight is lifted from my shoulders... until I see them together... Demi and Liam... I can only imagine how Niall must feel right now, but my heart breaks for more reasons then just Nialls feelings, but mine aswell. How could this have happened? Everything is like some jumbled mess. One that will take forever to clean.
When I enter English class, I see Niall and Demi talking. I smile slightly, then it fades when I remember whats happening. The bell rings and Niall sits in his normal seat beside me.
"Hey," I say.
"Hey," he's smiling like an idiot.
"Happy?" I ask.
"Got her number," he holds up a piece of paper.
"That would be great... If she didn't have a boyfriend,"
"Don't you see?" He asks.
"See what?"
"Look, its obvious Liam has feelings for you. And if Demi gave me her number an- If she gave me her number, she has to at least like me a little."
"So, you're suggesting we break them up?" I ask.
"At the very least, make them jealous. We can do this," He tells me with enthusiasm in his voice.
"Is this the dark side of Niall?"
"Honestly, more or less, the desperate one."
"Ni-"
"Don't you want this to be over?"
"Do you think Demi would like you any more if she knew you did this?"
Niall looks down, and is quiet for a while. Mr. Bronson walks in.
"You're right. It's wrong." Niall whispers.
"Don't stoop down to Liam's level," I whisper back, as Mr. Bronson begins the lesson.
As the day goes on, I keep thinking back to Niall's idea. It's cruel, I know, but it could work... No, Claire. Don't go there. Sigh. I nearly forget about the Louis thing until the end of the day, when I'm about to get on the motorcycle with Louis. Right before I get on, I hear a familiar voice.
"Claire!"
Liam.
Again.
"Yes?" I ask and turn around.
"Can we talk... alone?" he gives Louis a look.
"I was going somewhere, if that wasn't obvious." I say.
"Yeah, which proves my point that I really need to talk to you," Liam sneers.
"Why should I?"
"Just-"
"If Claire doesn't want to talk, she doesn't have to," Louis buds in, reving up his motorcycle.
Liam doesn't say a word as fist clenches.
"Goodbye, Liam," I say, and get on Louis's bike.
"Ready?" Louis asks.
I grip my hands around his waist, and say, "As ready as I'll ever be."
Louis takes me to a cute little restaurant in a strip mall. Its small, but nice.
The waiter seats us,and tells us, "Hello, my name is Hayden, I will be your server. May I start you off with something to drink?"
"I'll have a water," I say.
"I'll have the same," Louis states.
The waiter nods, and walks off. There's a small silnce for a bit. A voice in my head rings,
You know, with me there would never be an awkward silence.
It sends chills up my spine. The voice is Liam's...
"Are you okay?" Louis asks
You know he just wants to get in your pants.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just thought I heard something," I say with a smile.
Smooth.
I pinch myself, get out of my head, get out, get out.
Yeah, like that'll help.
This is going to be a long night,
