Two weeks later ; Saturday 4:00 am

Y/n remembered thinking how quiet the apartment was. It seemed like she could hear every single thing going on. The cats meowing just outside her door, the rustling leaves due to the cold front moving in, Tendous soft and even breaths, his occasional sniff. At one point, she swore that she could hear the blood rushing through her veins.

It was nothing new, the apartment had always been quiet but since Shirabu moved into the campus dorms last week, everything seemed to be way too silent. Y/n was sure that it was all in her head, Shirabu was hardly home so nothing really changed.

Still, the soundless nights made her feel so... itchy.

She slipped out of bed and cautiously slid the long, thick blinds to the sides of their glass sliding doors. Y/n wanted to opening them so she can sit on their small balcony but the cold, early breeze was sure to wake Tendou. So for now, she settled on a nearby cushioned chair that sat just in front of her glass doors.

Y/n brought her knees to her chest and grabbed a thin blanket to cover herself. It was abnormally cold in the apartment. She stared out of the doors, pleased that the sun hadn't come up yet, it was too early. Some faint stars could be seen in the sky and the birds were starting to wake.

She eyed the moon. It was full and it was shining so bright, she had to look away for a few seconds. Despite it all, y/n could perfectly make out the different patterns and colors on the moon, the craters and the dents.

A small chuckle escaped her lips as a single warm tear slid down her cheek. The moon was so bright, she found it so beautiful, and if it were possible, she would tell the moon how much she appreciated it.

Another tear, she thought of Tendous proposal in high school. She thought he was insane back then, but now, she understood and if he were to ask her again, she would say yes in a heartbeat.

"Just a random question, I've been doing a lot of thinking so hear me out okay?" Tendou talked to y/n on the phone. The walk home after his sisters wedding practice wouldve normally been a drag but thankfully, his girlfriend insisted on calling just to make sure he went home safe. Tendou watched y/n drop her pencil and prop her head up with her elbows. She smiled to show she was listening.
He looked up at the sky, there was hardly any darkness. Bright dots completely took over the night sky. Still, the lady moon stole all the beauty.
"Would you ever move to the moon with me?"
"What? Why? You plan on taking me there one day?"
Tendou averted his gaze and continued his walk, "You bet."
"You sound fresh out of the looney, Tori" She laughed.
"Good. I want you to move to the moon with me"
"I wouldn't"
"Why?"
"Earth is my home. I would miss it too much and there is nothing for me on the moon. It's a big floating rock"
Tendou shook his head at his naive girlfriend, "Youre not wrong. This is my home too but do you realize that earth is just another floating rock?"
Y/n stayed silent for a while, she hadn't thought about that. "Okay, fair point. Still, I would miss it here"
"I wouldn't" He shrugged.
"Why?"
"Because I'd still be at home, even if i was stuck on the moon, wearing big round helmets and suits."

She wanted Tendou to ask her again. Earth wasnt her home, he was. Y/n scolded herself, after all those years she finally knew what he meant. It was neither the moon nor the Earth. He had told her that she was his home and it went completely over her head.
