Sunday, Noon
"So your results from two days ago came back" Dr. Yamamoto fixed her glasses and stared at the floor. At that point, she didnt need to say anything, y/n could tell by her body language that something was wrong.
"I'm terribly sorry, Mr and Mrs Tendou, but the tests came back negative" She pursed her lips and eyed the couple, she found it odd that both of them held blank faces. Most women would be sobbing or angry after receiving another failed pregnancy test, y/n seemed to be calm. She couldnt take those drug store tests, they didn't work well enough for her situation so she had to take them at the doctors office to receive more accurate results. She took these tests 5 times, they all came out negative.
"I understand." Y/n softly smiled and squeezed Tendous hand gently. "Do you recommend that we continue this course? Please be honest. If we stand no chance, I would like to know the truth, rather than to wait around with a heart filled with hope for something I could never have."
The doctor cleared her throat and fixed her glasses, she scanned y/ns documents once more before offering her reply. "The choice to continue is entirely yours, Mrs Tendou"
"Thats not what I asked" She snapped and immediately covered her mouth with her hand, "I'm sorry." She muttered.
"Its alright" The older woman nodded. She understood how stressful y/ns situation could be, especially at such a young age.
Y/n continued, "Doctor, i get that it's my choice, I know this already. I want you, as my doctor, to give it to me stright. I want to know if I should cut my losses and give up. I hate taking those god forsaken pills but I do it because I want a family with my husband more than you could ever know. But..." She paused, her voice began to waver, "I need to know if I have a chance. Should I continue? I can't sit around and hope. I cant do those schedules anymore. Tell me that this is all worth it. Tell me your honest opinion, as a doctor and as a person"
The older woman stayed quiet for a while. She thought that y/n was definitely an odd one. At this point, majority of the women would give up on their own or ask to bump up their pill intake, though that hardly made any difference. She saw the seriousness in y/ns eyes. Yamamoto couldnt understand what it was like to be y/n because pregnancy came easy to her when she was young, but she could see the heartbreak and the exhaustion radiating from y/n. She decided that she at least owed y/n truth, not as a doctor but from woman to woman.
"Very well. Though you continue to have negative results, i feel that you should move forward with this path. As a doctor, i would normally try to talk you out of this but your percentages haven't changed a bit. You maintained the same expectancy rate from when you first came to see me. This tells me many things. One being that you only eat foods that youre allowed to eat. For example, if a woman were to continue eating burgers or fatty foods, we'd be able to tell because their expectancy rate would decrease or their reproductive organ would continue to decay. Yours isn't decaying anymore and the rates are still the same. Second, this shows that you care and you are trying hard. I wouldn't allow myself to talk you out of something that you worked so hard for. That is my honest opinion"
Y/n was at a loss for words. She didn't think that eating those shitty foods would actually pay off. She would never say it out loud but she was thankful that Tendou wouldn't allow for her to cheat, not once, not even a crumb.
"Thank you" She sniffed. "Should i make any adjustments to my schedules or foods?"
"For now, no. Your body is used to these schedules, rearranging them would only cause stress to your body. We will cross this adjustment stage when you get pregnant. Until then, maintain your food intake."
