Shrieks

Roman chuckled, running past the others and farther onto the abandoned beach. They were all surprised to find the place. Well, they wouldn't of if it weren't for Remy playfully tackling Janus is a hug and sending them off the cliff and landing on the beach. The sand wasn't yellow and soft like the beaches you'd see on tv. The sand was darker and hard, like dry mud. But, of course, that didn't stop the 5 from deciding to set up there.

When they had put their towels and bags down, Patton and Remy had ran over to the edge of the water and then into the shallows to host a water fight. Emile sat near the the edge of the water, watching while the other two talked while laying down farther up the beach. There was no sign of clouds so they would stay as long as possible, as summer was a thing they all wanted to cherish.

Suddenly a flock of seagulls flew by, all of them seeming to be in a panic. The three were a bit confused as they hadn't seen any other humans on the beach and it didn't seem like the place for many large animals or creatures that prayed on birds. The three on the land shrugged it off, but Remy and Patton still remained curious as to what had spooked the birds. Half an hour later, the seagulls had come back but decided to land nearer to the humans. They didn't mind and Janus took this as an opportunity to do some sketching practice. After all, he had taken up a habit of sketching things he had seen over the years for reference in paintings and big projects.

Suddenly a large splash of water caught their attention. The splash was soon followed by a screech of anger. Well what they thought was a screech. The sound was like a sharp whistle mixed with a hiss, making a wavy and ringing sound. The seagulls were immediately off and gone again, going to take perch a lot farther down the beach. Remy ran out of the water and flinging himself over to Janus, who wrapped his arms around the taller out of instinct. Totally not because he was also startled by the screech, totally not. Emile and Patton also followed, walking back to the others. "Soooo, are we gonna go check it out?" Patton asked, staring curiously in the direction of where the sound had came from. "Are you crazy? Who knows what terrifying thing could have made that sound. Yeah, no thanks babes." Remy replied, nuzzling his face into Janus's rarely shown hair. "I'll accompany you Patton. I am too curious as to see what caused that sound." Logan said, standing up from his towel. "I'll come along too!" Emile said with a smile, moving to stand beside Logan.

The three teens walked down the beach to where the seagulls had flown away from, where they had also heard the sound. At first they don't see much but a few weird marks in the sand. They looked like large skid marks, twisting in weird patterns that a bike or motor vehicle couldn't make. Logan had also noticed there were small vein looking lines that were perfectly straight in some of the marks, making him even more confused as to what had caused them. The three continued down a bit more, the marks becoming more common and soon something else caught their eyes.

There was a large cut out in the beach, it being filled with water and making a large pool. Now, this seems relatively normal but it's what was inside the pool that intrigued them. They could see shimmering stones, bracelets, jewels and other things that shone in the sun even through the water. The pool had a small border of rocks around it, them all being smooth and rather clean for where they were placed. This clearly wasn't caused by nature but there was no way another human was down here, no footprints or any other signs besides their own.

All three of the humans eyes widened as they watched something, or someone dive into the water. The bright red scales drew their attention away from the water, them reflecting the light and shine from the glittering items as they landed in the water of the pool. Brown, hazel and green met pure gold and a shriek filled the air.
