Chapter Ten.

(Y/N)'s eyes abruptly opened, waking her from her slumber as she felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen. She sat up in her bed and pulled down her sheets.

"Shit." She mumbled to herself, seeing her sheets covered in blood. She then realized why she had been so moody the last few days but she also realized that it was because Miles was being a complete dick.

He deserved to be snapped at. He couldn't always be the assertive bad boy who gets to do whatever he wants.

(Y/N) stood up and started stripping the bed with anger filling her face as the sheets stuck to the far corner.

"Stupid fucking bedsheets." She huffed, leaning over and pulling with all her force. Her head sharply turned toward the door as she heard a young girl's voice.

"You shouldn't say words like that, (Y/N)." Flora warned, coming closer to (Y/N) to give her a hand with the bedding. The girl's face turned to shock and horror as she saw the red colour splattered against the bed.

"Oh my goodness, oh my goodness. What happened? Are you dying?" Flora shouted, making her way over to (Y/N) and giving her a giant hug. She hugged back and shushed the girl.

"No, no. No need to worry. I just bumped my knee!" She reassured the terrified girl. Flora slowly nodded and avoided looking directly at (Y/N)'s knees. Flora became very faint at the sight of blood and knew it was best to just believe her and keep her distance.

"Let's give these to Mrs Grose. She can get the stain out." Flora said while pulling off the pillow cases and bunching them up in her thin arms. She was up and out of the room before (Y/N) could even answer. (Y/N) quickly ran to the washroom, cleaned herself up, and put on a fresh pair of sweatpants before following after Flora to the laundry room.

Mrs Grose was waiting for her with Flora and when (Y/N) entered she gave her a rub on the shoulder. (Y/N) graciously handed the bedding to Mrs Grose and Flora's hand and cheerful self dragged her out of the room. Flora continued running until they reached the schooling room. She sat down and pulled out a canvas. Flora held up paint of all colours and told (Y/N) to choose her favourites. The girl ended up choosing a pale pink, orange, and a deep purple.

"You're going to love it, (Y/N). It's for you. Miss Katie says I am quite the little artist. She says I'm better than her but I've never actually seen any of her work. I've seen artwork from your grandma though. It's kinda scary." Flora shivers. (Y/N) looked up in confusion. She hadn't seen any artwork from her grandmother in ages. Her brow furrowed and she scooched closer to the girl.

"Where did you see those?" Her stare became full of weight.

"Just laying around in Miss Kate's room. Don't tell her I was snooping! Because I definitely wasn't." Flora rambled. (Y/N) faked a small giggle. She excused herself and dashed up to her mother's room. Kate was sitting on her bed rubbing lotion onto her arm. She looked up as (Y/N) entered the room and waited for her to say something. The room was still silent.

"Yes? What is it?" Kate asked with a questioning look.

"Did grandma send anything?" (Y/N) asked, scowling. Kate shifted uncomfortably on the bed.

"No, why?" She replied, her body language becoming tense and defensive. (Y/N) took a step closer and her eyes were drawn to a package on her mom's dresser. She snatched it.

"Then what is this?" (Y/N) said, waving the yellow package in the air. Kate swallowed, harshly, and stood up.

"It's just artwork." Kate started.
