Todd texted me and told me he made it home and I okay'd the message and left it at that. I wonder what his endgame was with me. He seemed so mysterious. I was deeply intrigued by it to the point that it made me want to know even more. I smiled at my phone and a message came through. The same guy that stood me up on my first date. Oh hell no! He was asking for a do over. I politely blocked the number and kept staring at Todd's message until the three little dots popped up. You know what that meant right? He was double texting!! I sat upright in my bed and they disappeared. My heart dropped with my face. Why was I excited about him texting me? Was it because I truly knew he was the only one who knew me amd it made me even more interested? I don't know but I was text whipped if that even was a thing nowadays. Soon as I put my phone down it rung. Facetime from..... him!! I sat up, put chapstick on and answered quickly. He spoke deeply,"You didn't have to prepare for this call." I smiled and lied,"I didn't what's up?" He smiled,"You. I notice things about you everyday." I listened intently as he continued,"I have something to show you. Come to this address I send to you." He hung up before I could even protest that I have work tomorrow and shot me the address. I sighed and said to myself, "Im insane I barely even know him!" Yet I still got my little stupid ass up to go meet him. I wasn't aware of what was coming my way. He was just too damn good to be true. Minutes later I was at the location which was a cabin like house. I got out and walked up to the door. He swung it open and a smell drifted in my nostrils. I closed my eyes and opened them asking,"What's that lovely smell?" He smirked and said,"Late night dinner." I walked in and looked around and he got food off the stove and said,"Something quick. It's done." He put a plate in front of me and it was fried chicken breasts, broccoli with cheese, and garlic toast with asparagus on the side. He put another plate in front of me and it was a dessert. A certain type of cake. He sat across from me and said,"Try it." I watch too much lifetime so I immediately assumed he was trying to kill me. He saw my facial expression and started laughing hysterically. I fake smiled and he said,"I promise if I wanted to do that you would've been gone. Taste it." I slowly cut the chicken and tasted it with the broccoli. He watched me intently and I said,"You invited me for food?? It's good by the way." He got up and smiled,"Yes, I see you love food." I frowned and he said,"I do too. There's more. Come." He grabbed my hand and took me out back. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. A garden with a bunch of lightning bugs. It was gorgeous. The flower's colors reflected off of them as they danced in the moonlight. "Stand in the middle of the garden,"He urged. I moved slowly into the middle of the garden and and it lit up as the lightning bugs started to fly around me. I cheesed like a little kid and Todd chuckled and said, "I come here when I need to clear my mind." He started to walk in circles around me. I watched him intently and asked,"How long have you known they would do this within the light?" He paused for a second and said, "A couple of nights after I bought the house." I continued to stare in awe as Todd watched me intently. "What?" I asked. He shook his head and said,"That look, I've seen it before." "Okay?" I said questioningly. "There's something else I would like to show you," he said as he took my hand and led me back inside the cabin. I followed suit and we came to a huge library and an office inside. I walked around studying the books and he watched me. "It was my fathers," he spoke loudly. "Where's he now?" I asked running my fingers along the shelves. "Dead," he said quickly. I stopped mid-step and he waved it off as if it wasn't important. He sat at the desk and said,"You're so predictable because I've had a you before." I frowned and asked,"What the hell is a me?" He smiled and put his hands together and said,"All the money in the world and you're still not satisfied or happy." I looked downward and he continued,"So what will it take for you to be happy Trease?" With that he approached me slowly and I nervously gulped like an idiot. He caressed my chin and whispered,"Tell me what will make you happy." I stammered,"I uh ... I." At that moment I wanted him and he wanted me. The tension was thick as hell and I couldn't control myself for shit. When he touched me I felt sparks and I have no idea why because I barely knew this guy! He knew how to talk to me, touch me, show me around, and most of all, he knew me. At this point he had me wrapped around his finger and didn't even know it. But I backed away slowly from him and said,"It's late, I should go." He smirked at me and waved his hand as if surrendering. I forced a smile and rushed out of his house as quickly as I could to my car. When I got inside I breathed a sigh of relief. I need to occupy my mind with work or something. I could not be thinking of this man in this way! Something had to give. I looked at the cabin once more as he stood in the doorway watching me before I drove off.
