That night we met up outside the event and he smiled and looked at me from my head to my toes. "You look stunning,"he said. I blushed and said,"You don't look half bad yourself sir. By the way what is your name?" "Todd," he said smiling. I looked at him and said," Okay in here just smile and nod that's what I do." He giggled and I continued,"You will meet the most annoying, richest people ever mark my words. "Coming from the woman who has anything she desires besides love huh?" he asked. I frowned and said,"Not the time. Come on and I don't have a problem with love either Mr. Knowitall." I grabbed his arm and wrapped it in mine as we walked into the building with fake smiled plastered on our faces. Inside it was gorgeous. They had everything from lights to the fountains lighting up in the middle of the floor! I watched Todd's eyes twinkle as he took in the scenery before him. I grabbed a glass of champagne and one for him too. "Drinking is your go to?"he asked with one eyebrow raised. "For now,"I said as a lady and her husband sashayed up in our faces smiling brightly. "HEY Trease!!" said the woman excitedly. "Mmmm Morgan, I said fakely,"How are you?" She ignored that and looked at Todd,"Aren't you going to introduce me to your date?" I shook my head and said,"He heard your name." She shot back at look and her husband whispered something in her ear and she smiled and said,"Well nice to see you Trease so glad you didn't get the short end of the stick thid tie around." And with that she stalked off tripping over her husband's foot. I raised my glass and said,"I'll drink to that." Todd giggled and asked,"What's her deal?" Stuck up bitch," I mumbled. He snickered and said,"Shocker." I downed my glass and said,"Come on." I took him to a upstairs balcony overlooking the view of the garden grounds below. He sighed and said,"So is this for charity." I nodded and stared off into the distance. He studied me and then asked the million dollar question,"Why aren't you happy?" I looked at him blankly and said,"I am. Don't I appear to be happy Todd?" He sighed and downed his glass and placed it down saying,"To others." I dropped my head and said,"Maybe you don't know me at all how you think you do." He stared and said,"I know it when I see it." And with that, he caressed my chin sending tingles down my arm. I stared for a moment and cleared my throat as he continued,"I told you I see you." Now what went through my mind was, child this man is too fine. Why's he touching my chin like this? Ugh I almost fainted. I think he knows that too by the way he's smirking at me. I backed away from him and said,"We shoud go." He held his hands up as if he was surrendering and I walked away quickly with him on my heels. We left out with no one to distract us and my driver was waiting outside for me. He looked at the limo and mumbled,"Of course." I rolled my eyes and held out my hand for him to take. He hesitated at first and grabbed it as I pulled him into the car. My driver looked at me and I said,"Home." He nodded and we headed on our way. It took 26 minutes until we made it to my house and when we did, Todd got out and shook his head smiling,"A woman who does good for herself." I smiled and said,"Come on." I directed him into the house and watched his eyes spark at the way he took in the scenery before him. "So you go to galas and just stay here?" he asked dumbfounded. "I work too," I said giggling. I walked around to my couch and motioned for him to sit down. "So you just have the life huh?"he asked. I kicked off my heels and sat down with my legs crossed under me on the opposite couch and sighed,"I guess. So back to the topic at hand, do you go around people and just say you know them when in reality you don't?" He chuckled lightly and said,"You remind me of someone I used to know and they took the wrong path with men and their life in general. You can have it all and still be miserable." I just stared at him for a moment and he smirked again and said,"I better get going it's getting pretty late." I nodded and stood up at the same time he did. He smiled once more and I said,"My driver will take you back to your car just call me when you've made it. He nodded and said,"Thanks for the night out I still have the card and I will be calling you." I nodded and shut the door as he turned to leave. I leaned on the door and breathed a sigh of relief. How did he know so much in so little time? I was determined to find out.
