The team prepared playing against a college team to improve, the coach telling them not to embarrass him. Goshiki nodded looking around to see if Akari was here yet. Ushijima noticed this and reminded the future ace to not get distracted. The poor boy nodded nervously his cheeks turning red in embarrassment.

Akari on the other hand was in the library picking up the textbooks for Goshiki. Just like always the young boy had left revision to the last minute so she would be helping him study over the weekend. She grabbed what books seemed necessary humming to some song which was stuck in her head only to be hushed by the old librarian who worked only because she had nothing else to do. Akari scoffed grabbing the books saying ‘thank you’ loudly on purpose before she left just to annoy the old hag.

Akari threw her heavy bag over her shoulder again, the straps sliding off every so often making her irritated. She continued to make her way ready to throw her bag to the floor and complain to Goshiki on the way home because it was his fault as to why her bag was so heavy. The gym door happened to be open and she could hear the shoes squeak against the floor followed by some shouts.

As she was about to enter, she saw Ushijima practically flying in the air his form perfect and his spike harsher than she had ever seen. She blinked looking at the ball which landed on the opponents side and she swore to herself that the ball had gotten smaller. “Ushi promise to spank me hard like that.” She spoke louder as she ran in so the boy could hear her.

That was when she noticed the opposing team consisted of people she did not recognised. Her cheeks turned red in embarrassment while Goshiki made a face of disgust towards her. Ushijima watched as she let out a nervous laugh as she pointed to the bench beside her saying she would be watching from there.

During the match Akari cheered for her team to the extent that her voice had began to become hoarse. Every time Goshiki scored a point she would take pictures on her phone like a proud mother. The worse was when Ushijima scored a point which happened often, she would stand on the bench clapping her hands in joy taunting the opposing team. “Take that and you call yourself college students hah.” she scoffed blowing a kiss to ushijima.

The game ended and the college team happened to win showing the boys they had a lot to improve. “So we won then.” One of the college team members teases Akari who scoffed strutting towards Goshiki to show him the cool pictures she had taken of him. “You’re embarrassing me.” Goshiki whined as Akari ruffled his hair,

Ushijima on the other hand was talking to the college team captain who was giving some advice to the younger. The captain looked behind Ushijima to look at the loud girl which had made quite a first impression. “So you have quite the girlfriend don’t you?” he teased raising his eyebrows towards the girl behind them causing Ushijima to furrow his eyebrows. “She is not my girlfriend.” He cleared the misunderstanding which happened to catch Akari’s attention.

“Not yet you mean.” She yelled running over to the two. Ushijima sighed as Akari latched herself onto his arm, Tendou losing his sanity when he watched his stoic best friend attempt to pull away while Akari clung on like a koala.

Akari walked home happily reminding Goshiki that he had done a great job as the younger was a sore loser. She noticed her fathers car parked in the driveway and rushed in surprised to see him again so soon; it would usually be another few months before she could spend time with her dad again.

As she walked into the kitchen, she saw her dad had already prepared dinner borrowing her pink and grey apron. She snickered before helping set the table so the two could eat. The two talked about the day her father asking why she bothered watching the volleyball team to which she brushed off the question. “So sweetie, if you noticed I have been coming home later for the past few months.” He stated to which Akari nodded with a frown. “Well you see I met this woman and we have been seeing eachother for a while and I would really love for you to meet her.” He asked hesitantly and Akari scoffed.

“So instead of spending time with your daughter you felt it was more important to spend time with your new girlfriend?” she asked getting up from her seat. “Its not like that.” Akaris father held out his hand to hold her but she walked away. “That’s exactly how it is. I’m going to Goshiki’s,” and with that she left.

Her father watched with a worried expression as she knocked on their neighbours door being let it in by Goshiki’s mother. The woman looked down at the poor girl who  looked like she would burst into tears soon therefore rushing her in. She shook her head at Akaris father remembering how she had warned him the time she had seen him and his new girlfriend at the restaurant one evening while his daughter was at home waiting.
