Ash's POV. Barriacde Boy's POV in bold.
I sat at the window of the house. It was right next to the door so I could see a lot. Because I had my meal yesterday I was still in my shared cell while everyone else had their weekly meal. I started to hum when I heard yelling from outside. "ASH?! ASH WHERE ARE YOU?!" It sounded like-
"CHARLIE!" I screamed not thinking. Happiness rushed through my body. He had come for me.
"ASH!" He yelled.
"Charlie. You came," I said.
"Well I had to rescue the fair maiden in the tower. It just so happens I came on the right day," he smirked. I touched Charlie's hand through the window. The window was closed so someone had to open it from the outside. "Awwww Charlie you really do care about me," I smiled. He looked at me and nodded. "Well lets get you outta here girl," he said opening the window.Courfeyrac felt jealous. Who was this Charlie? And why did Ash trust him? Jehan was flinching and everyone could see it. "Jehan are you scared of this?" Combeferre asked.
"I'm not fond of what follows," Jehan explained.Suddenly the door opened. I was near the gate next to Charlie when Snyder entered. "You shouldn't have screamed so loud girl. Now I have two children one old and one new," Snyder snarled. I gulped. Charlie looked at me. "I'm not leaving you," I said. I already knew what he was gonna do. "You have to go Ash," he told me. I locked eyes with him. Then Snyder grabbed my arm. I let out a scream. "I don't wanna go. I don't wanna go. Don't leave me Charlie," I begged. Charlie nodded and grabbed Snyder's arm, the arm that was holding me back. "I love you Ash. I'll see you on the other side," Charlie explained. Then Snyder brought Charlie inside shutting the door.
Courf watched this with shock. This is why the twins never talked about their past. Too many people had been lost for the to cope with so they blocked it out. "I- I- This is why they never talked about their past," I stuttered.
"No crap Sherlock," Eponine said rolling her eyes."Charlie?" I muttered. I closed my eyes and then opened them. I expected to be back in my cell but I was still outside. I ran up to the door and started to bang on it. "CHARLIE! CHARLIE NO! CHARLIE COME BACK! I DON'T WANNA LEAVE YOU! I DON'T WANNA GO CHARLIE! CHARLIE PLEASE! CHARLIE I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU!" I screamed. "I love you. I love y-" I spoke. I cut myself off with a loud sob. I sank against the door and cried into my hands. "Jehan she's here!" I heard Joly yell. I looked up and saw Jehan and Joly running towards me.
"Ash what's wrong?" Jehan asked.
"They took Charlie," I weakly said before breaking down in my brother's arms. I started to run towards the door but Joly held me back. "Your not going back there. Charlie will be fine," my brother reassured me. The scream I heard coming from the refuge did no good. I stomped on my brother's foot making him let go of me. I dashed off to the refuge. I saw Charlie standing in the center. "CHARLIE!" I cried and hugged him.
"Do I know you?" he asked.
"Charlie, it's me Ash. We've been friends since we were 5," I explained.
"I don't remember you," he said.
"Oh, okay," I swallowed back a sob. I couldn't cry in front of him. "Well lets take you to the church, they can look after you there," I told him. I took Charlie to church and left him there with a note. I hugged him for the last time. "I love you Charlie. I really do," I sobbed into his shoulder. "I love you too Ash," I heard him mutter. Then I left him and headed back to Jehan's house. I had lost the person I loved. I had lost Charlie.
