[JSCHLATT'S POV]
Will and I are walking around our home and through the neighboring forest when I ask him what we should do about this. I know it's a silly question, and we can't do anything to stop it, but anything works to keep my mind off the water and onto Wilbur.
"-Here's what I'm thinking Wilbur, lets stop employing children to do our work, and get air conditioning and this whole thing will be fixed!" I tell him.
Wilbur jumps to the water below to break his fall, and swims his way to a smaller island that has snow on it to collect our 'air conditioning'. Hesitantly, I swim after him as to not be alone. And then I feel it. The water is rising.
"Oh. OH SHIT DUDE!" I scream terrified, as I hold my breath and begin swimming up as fast as I can, only 3 air bubbles left on my meter.
I'm halfway through the new water when I hear a muffled shout from Will. I begin panicking, I'm not going to make it am I? I'm going to drown and succumb to this water.
And then just as my last kick propels me through the water I gasp. Sweet oxygen filling my lungs, though throwing me into a coughing fit. I reach upwards to a jagged rock, jutting out of the mountainside and heave myself onto land.
"Dude you know the rules." Will says gently as he rushes down to me, picking me up slowly and taking me higher up. My arm rests on my chest as I feel my weight push closer to Wilbur. He swims us both home and sets me down next to the crafting table, I put my hand in his brown locks and murmur a silent thank you before falling asleep quietly.
When I awake I see that my head is resting on Wilbur's shoulder. I blush silently at the sight, I've always been fond of the British man. I wonder if he feels this way as well.
Wilbur points out how close our house is to the water. We may be swallowed by the water in the next rise of water.
"Oh fuck, in the next 5 minutes we're gonna be in the drink." I breathlessly tell Wilbur.
"Wilbur I'm gonna build a wall." I jokingly tell him
I begin to work on the small dirt structure around the house, it was quite close but no going back now. I finish up the wall and walk into the house closing the gap in the wall and begin to panic. We're going to die here, aren't we? I call out to Wilbur as he walks up to the house.
"-Oh, it's looking marvelous!" Wilbur joyously tells me while he approaches.
"Wilbur, I built a wall!" I exclaim.
"You did build a wall." Wilbur replies.
I hear his footsteps hitting the ground as he wanders around the wall looking for a nonexistent entrance. Oops. I hear his footsteps fade and ask him where he is and he tells me his just running around the wall, playfully frustrated at the fact I haven't made a door.
"Enter the premises." I tell him.
I feel the ground shake again. Wilbur is still outside. I rush to make an entrance so he doesn't drown. I hear Will gasp.
"oh no. Schlatt!" Wilbur calls out to me nervously. His voice is shaky and I rush out the door to see where the water is.
"Oh shit" I say looking upon the water level only a few blocks below our feet.
I'm pleasantly surprised to see it hasn't consumed us yet, but it will definitely within the next five minutes. Wilbur and I shoot each other worried glances as we walk inside the safety of our wall and home.
I close the door and block the wall with dirt again. I walk towards my side of the home and hear Will murmur.
"Oh, this does feel quite safe." He says, visibly relaxing a little.
I'm glad I could bring him some sense of safety even if it was just with my shitty building skills and a dirt wall. I notice he's on my side of the wall and I try to lighten the mood a little.
"Get on your side of the house!" I tell him jokingly shoving him through the oak door in the center.
"Give me a sec- I just need to make air conditioning-." he tells me laughing as he's being shoved away from the crafting table.
"Not gay, not gay." I say, trying to keep my face straight as to not break character.
I notice Will has placed two snow blocks in the center of the house where our window used to be. Damn now I can't see his stupid pretty face while we're in our rooms. Not on my watch, I'm the architect after all.
"Nah nah, I want the window." I say to Will, breaking the top snow block.
I look in my inventory to see if there is any glass.
"I want the glass! Where's the glass?" I whine out to Wilbur, acting childishly.
"Oh, I smashed it." Wilbur says, placing a new window in the spot where the snow block once was.
"Yeah, this is better. Gives you more visibility y'know?" I say looking at Will smiling, a light pink dusting my cheeks.
Jesus Christ, I have gone soft for fucking Wilbur Soot?
