[WILBUR'S POV]
I finished up the attachment to our home, just another small room for myself. Identical to the opposing side of the house, but with a furnace rather than a crafting table. I could tell Jschlatt was getting increasingly worried, and I was too, but I tried to calm him down with jokes and such.
"Now we just need a door!" I said happily to Schlatt.
I walked into the house and giggled at the sight of Schlatt having placed a door in the middle of the house, separating our rooms. His laugh filled my ears, as we talked through the giggles.
"This is my corner of the house and that's yours." He said playfully backing further into 'his corner'.
"Alright, I get the furnace, you get the crafting table." I say jokingly placing a block of glass between our rooms.
[SCHLATT'S POV]
Daylight came and Wilbur left me in the house alone again, sadly. I do find myself missing him a lot. Wilbur and I are having conversation as normal again, not much we can do I guess but I don't mind. I like talking to Will, his voice is oddly soothing.
"Schlatt, my dude, my pretty princess." Wilbur says casually.
My face flushes red. What did he just call me? More importantly why did I like it?
"I have a request." Will continues.
"No, no i'm closing the door." I reply quickly, flustered and panicking.
Will stares at me through the glass, surely seeing my face tinted a dark red.
"What you don't like being my pretty princess?" Wilbur says teasingly, a light pink rising to his face as well.
As much as I do enjoy it, I don't want to admit it to Will.
"Never call me that" I shoot back, my voice a little shaky.
Will only giggles in response to my shenanigans.
[WILBUR'S POV]
I walk out to the treetops, carefully watching my step as to not meet the same fate Schlatt did earlier. I too had taken notice to the 5 minute intervals between the water rising. I countdown from ten internally, and when I hit zero the water rises closer, fully consuming the trees.
"Okay, that's not looking good." I say to Schlatt through the window.
Schlatt lets out a breathy "Oh my god." nervously laughing at the sight below.
I go back inside to tell Schlatt that we need some iron. He still looks so worried about the climate change as we've decided to call it. He's sitting down on my side of the house, visibly shaking against the furnace. But he'd never let me know that he was scared. I sit down and wrap my arms around him, pulling him into a hug for reassurance. We get up and leave the house, deciding to explore what once was spawn.
"Oh wow." I hear Schlatt mutter, only a few blocks away from myself.
We have dove into the water and are exploring spawn.
"It's eerie, man." I tell Schlatt, to let him know that the rising water also bothers me.
"Yeah we were like-, we spawned down here." Schlatt speaks solemnly, rising to the surface and taking a big breath when he reaches it.
"Yeah." I softly mutter back.
We climb back home, Schlatt offering me a hand again at the last pull. He holds on to hand a little longer this time though, looking into my eyes. He has soft brown eyes that seem to be pulling me in every time I see him. We look away, soft pink dusting our faces.
I'm drowning in you, Schlatt.
