[WILBUR'S POV]

"Can we make a roof, so we can watch our impending- Wait I don't need to asks you this is my side!" I laugh to Schlatt.

I begin mining the roof and replacing the slabs with glass, as to have a better view when the water rises. When that's done, I craft Schlatt and myself one chest each and walk through the door in the middle, onto Schlatt's side. I realize I should probbably ask before placing it so I do.

"Can I come on your side briefly?" I ask Schlatt, my voice softer than expected. I'm holding a small lily of the valley in my hand and a torch in the other.

"Nope!" Schlatt says shortly.

He's so stupid sometimes, but I can't help the fact I'm still drawn to him. Something about him makes me want to be more than just friends.

"okay that's fine, i'll just place it here then." I mutter half to myself, half to Schlatt.

I put down the chests and I can tell Schlatt is fidgeting out of nervousness. It's only a few minutes before the water consumes us. To take his mind off it I play his stupid game of 'yelling through the glass', though we can hear each other just fine.

"Oh fuck you dude, i'm not playing your little game." I tell him laughing.

He continues nonetheless, yelling to me "When's the water coming up?"

I check the timer I set, it reads 2 minutes on the dot.

"Two minutes excactly!" I yell back to him.

"Awesome! I can't wait for my side to be completely dry!" He laughs through yelling to me.

I giggle nervously at him, he seems to take notice and reassures me.

"We're gonna be fine in this house." He says, lowering his voice.

"Schlatt I'm scared, can I come into your side?" I whisper to him.

"No." He says, still keeping in character.

Just then, the water begins to rise again.

Oh fuck.
