[JSCHLATT'S POV]
The water began rising, fully consuming our little home in a mere 5 seconds. I was petrified, and so was Wilbur.
"Schlatt, oh no Schlatt." Wilbur spoke voice shaking as he watched the water fall on his roof, regretting the installation of glass above him.
I was silent, frozen in place as the panic set in, I just wanted Wilbur next to me now. I tried to calm myself down from my internal panic, I couldn't let Wilbur notice my fear.
"Schlatt?" Wilbur called out to me softly.
"See? We're absolutely fine. We can continue." I cautiously reassured him.
He laughed nervously at my seemingly nonchalant answer to us submerged underwater. I opened the oak door in the center to let Will in, as much as I didn't want to admit it I had to have him next to me. Even the wall in the middle was to far away for me.
"So uh, come on over." I said, softer than expected.
"Really?" Wilbur looked at me puzzled.
"yeah, yeah come in." I said in a kind whisper.
We looked into each other's eyes, I got lost in his. The way the small amount of torch light sparkled off his eyes, fire dancing ever so gracefully in his golden brown irises. Silently we stared at each other, blushing. Wilbur was the first to speak, shaking me of my trance.
"It-It's not gay?" He stuttered out with a hushed voice.
"Well I mean it's-" I said still not breaking eye contact with him, deciding that maybe it was gay, but maybe I wanted it to be.
"bro hug?" he asked gently.
"Yeah, sure c'mere." I told him.
I pulled him into my lap, as a sigh of relief escaped my mouth. We sat on the floor, leaning against the crafting table as he laid his head on my chest silently. I could hear his heartbeat and I pulled him in close as ever. I never wanted to let go. The stupidly adorable Brit under me had stolen my heart in such a short while.
Not long after, I heard soft snores coming from the taller man in my lap. I laid there in silence with him cuddled into my chest, kissing the top of his head before falling asleep myself.
"Goodnight, Wilbur." I whispered
"Goodnight, Schlatt." He whispered back, half asleep.
