Chapter 4: A Couple Drinks In

"Who were you texting?" Madison asked. "Oh, it was just Julia. She wanted to let us know that the food is ready." Madison nodded and we started to talk back to our table. Before we walked over to our table to sit down, Madison pulled me aside. She handed me a note and went and sit down. I opened up the note to see numbers. At first I was confused, but then it hit me. Omg! She gave me her phone number!! I tried to stay calm but I couldnt stop smiling. I sat down at the table and Julia and Elle noticed how smiley I was being. "Is everything alright Vic? I havent seen you this happy since... Actually, I don't remeber ever seeing you this happy." Julia and Elle looked at eachother. Madison started to laugh a bit but nobody questioned it. The table suddenly went silent. Everyone started to eat their dinner. "So, how is everyone's meal?" Elle asked, trying to break the ice. " Nope. I'm not doing this. Vic, you're coming with me." Julia said as she got up from her seat. She grabbed my arm and pulled me away from the table. Elle looked so confused. It was just her and Madison at the table. "So, um, what do you do for a living?" Elle asked. 

"Victoria you have to tell me what's going on" Julia said. "Why are you so happy?" I showed her the note that Madison gave me. "She handed me this right before we sat down." Julia's face lit up. " Omg, is that what I think it is?" I started nodding. "Omg Vic! I'm so happy for you!" I smiled. "I'm not sure if it's real though. Should I try and text the number?" I asked as I pulled out my phone. "Text the number! Text it! Text it! Text it! Text it!" She said with excitment. I created a contact for the number and texted it.

TEXT:

Me: Hey! Is this Madison??

Madison (maybe): Yeah it is. Who is this?

Me: It's Victoria!

Madison (maybe): Omg Vic, hurry back to the table. It's getting awkward!!

Julia looked down at my phone. "Omg it is her! Maybe we should go back, we don't want Elle to expose us" Julia chuckled. As we were about to head to the table Julia quickly pulled me aside and whispered in my ear. She told me "don't mess this up." I was very confused but I thought nothing of it. I just thought that the reason she told me this was because she had never seen me this happy and she wanted for me to stay happy.  Once I sat down, I realized that Madison had ordered some sort of alcoholic drink. It didn't bother me that much but as the night went on, I realised that she kept ordering more and more. "Will that be all for tonight?" the waiter asked us. We said yes and as I was paying for the bill, I had noticed Madison grabbing her car keys. "Which car is yours?" I asked Madison.  She pointed towards a Range Rover. "I should actually get going now" she slurred. Right before she was able to get out of her seat, I took the keys from her hands. "I'm driving you home" I told her. Elle and Ju looked over at me. "Vic, it's 3 in the morning and you suck at driving. You might get lost or something." Elle said. I shook my head. "I'm driving her home." Before I was able to start heading to Madison's car, Julia said "What if you drive her to the hotel? We do all have our own rooms and worst case, we ask for an extra mattress. You can drive her home tomorrow morning, when it's not dark and when she is sobber." I asked Madison if she was fine with the idea of staying with us in the hotel and she nodded. I hopped in her car, with her in the passanger seat and we headed to the hotel room. Julia and Elle were following us in the car that we drove to L.A in.
