Day Of The Masquerade Ball...
I woke up early and showered. I was on the phone with Paris and had to leave since we had to me at the hotel. I grab my bag and sunglasses. I walk out the apartment into the uber. It was a silent ride to the hotel. I was very tired and hungry.
Once i arrived at the hotel i saw lots of all black cars and some people with cameras. Not a lot but some. I walked to the front door and got the key to my hotel room. Once i walked in i put my stuff down and took a 10 minute nap. It was very much needed considering today was going to be busy. Once those quick 10 minutes were up i got a call and the makeup artist and dresser would be arriving soon. Bored out of my mind i called Paris.
Hey, Are you in your room yet?
Uh yeah the makeup and dressers are getting here soon
Mine are already here but we're fitting the dress
Ohhh okay well i'll talk to you later so we can meet up
okay bye
bye
I hear a knock on my door and rush to get it. "Hi! Ivy? Right?" The blonde lady says. I smile and nod. "Yes you're Christine right?" I ask. "Yes, shall we get started?" I simply nod and we start small talk. Christine was a very nice person. She was interesting, talked a lot about our travels and life. We listened to music and as she stopped talking less and less i could tell she was starting to really concentrate.
"So are you meeting anyone tonight?" Christine asks while doing her makeup. "No i'm going with a friend" I say. She nods and keeps doing her job. "Do you want to see anyone in particular tonight?" I asks to break the awkward silence. "Yeah, he's sort of just like a hot celebrity that i want to meet" She says chuckling. "Oh that's nice" I reply and the silence looms back. My makeup and hair are finally done and i get up to stretch my legs. I yawn and get ready to put the dress on.
I put the dress on and one of the dressers helps me zip it up. I look at myself in the mirror. The dress is absolutely perfect. It's hugs my body and compliments me. I love it! I take a few pictures and send some to Felix. He replies with the heart eye emojis. I giggle looking at his texts. I wish he was here. I focus and put my heels on and the jewelry. I grab my mask and purse. I have one of the girls thats my assistant for the day carry it. I feel bad having her carry it. I text Paris and she had sent me photos of herself in her dress. She looks so amazing. We get in the car and the driver starts driving. I play music in the car and make small talk with the (my) assistant. She's a very reserved person but nice. I look out through the tinted windows. We're arriving.
I take a deep breath and put my mask on my eyes. I tie it and get out the car. I get out and there's a few people getting their picture taken. I get pulled aside from my assistant. "Don't take your mask off until midnight and if someone says your name don't respond." She says while looking me dead in the eye. I nod sort of confused. I see some other familiar faces but yet again unfamiliar faces. I look around for Paris but i can't find her. I enter the building and it has a old money aura about it. Everyone is squished into a hallway with there big dresses and fancy tuxedos. I feel so lost. I have no one that i see. It's making me very anxious.
It's been a few hours since the ball had begun. I talked to quite a few people. They were very nice and complimented my dress and how beautiful i looked. Nearly every time i blushed profusely. A slow song started to play throughout the room. "Everyone grab a partner and dance if you wish to." The announcer said. I looked around for a familiar face to dance with but i couldn't find any. I turn back around before i feel someone grab my hand and pull me into a dance. I look at the man who had taken my hand. I almost choke at what i see. Even though he has a mask. Those eyes, staring into my own. The feeling it gave me. I'd could recognize those green eyes anywhere.
