Chapter 2: Unfortunate Encounter
It had been almost a month and Aelwyne was already one of the most trusted interns much like Bailey had been after she started talking. She was quiet but still approachable. She was also funny which earned her her friends. She was smart and competitive yet compassionate and humble. She was no saint and she was not perfect. She tried to learn from everything. And her humbleness did not mean she'd let people walk all over her. Though very welcoming and approachable she was still very private. She didn't ever talk about her family or friends beyond the people in Seattle Grace.
She had met her other fellow interns, Cristina Yang, George O'Malley, and Alex Karev. Each more different than the next however each had the same thirst for surgery as she did. Karev was difficult, basically a player who slept around with anyone and everyone at the hospital. George was sweet and polite yet he was always trying to outdo Karev, always trying to be better than him, almost like he had a chip on his shoulder. Well not almost he for sure had the chip. Cristina was very smart, driven and sometimes arrogant but once you got to know her she was caring. She knew her stuff and she knew that she knew and everyone knew how good she was. If they didn't she'd show them. While the boys had been easy to get along with as well as Cristina and Meredith, Izzie just didn't seem to like Aelwyne. Especially because Cristina, Meredith, and Aelwyne had grown very close in really little time.
"I don't understand what's so good about her." Izzie huffed in the locker room.
"Who?" Alex asked.
"Lady Aelwyne." She said rolling her eyes. "Like what's so good about her? She's nothing special"
"You're just jealous trailer Barbie. You can tell Aelwyne has class and she's smart. But the thing about her is that she doesn't try too hard. She is actually one of the few people if not the only one that's genuine. And that's what separates her from you." He said and started to walk towards the door.
"Plus there's the fact that she is way beyond hot. Like her eyes alone." as he said that Aelwyne walked in.
"Who's beyond hot?" She asked, raising her brow.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" Izzie fumed still in front of her locker.
"See ya sweetness" Alex said with a wink as he walked out.
"Are you ok Iz?" Aelwyne attempted. She knew ever since she got here Izzie had not liked her one bit. She knew she had done nothing but she still tried.
"Fine." She slammed the locker door and stomped out.
Cristina and Meredith were close behind Aelwyne and witnessed the whole exchange.
"The hell is her problem?" Cristina said as she walked in.
"Maybe she needs to get laid." Meredith giggled.
"I'll get her a man. Just you wait." Cristina said as she changed into scrubs.
"Let her be. It's fine. She doesn't like me is all. Not everyone has to. I mean I don't really care." Aelwyne added as she changed herself.
"But you're so easy to like. Then again I'm happy all of that isn't directed at me and McDreamy" Meredith said, a bit sarcastically pulling on her coat.
"McDreamy" sang Cristina and Aelwyne laughing. Meredith shot them a 'whatever' look and then laughed herself.
"It's true though. Maybe she is a little more jealous than me." Cristina said.
"There's not-" Aelwyne was cut off by Meredith.
"Umm. Yes there is. But it's good. We push each other because of it." She finished.
