I have worked at this Cinema in Manhattan for almost two months and its great. The perfect summer job for a 17 year old guy. Why? Because whenever girls come here for a movie - classic first date - and get stood up by the boys, I swoop in and BAM! One more number in my contacts and one more lucky girl to cry on my shoulder. Admit it, it is foolproof! Doesn't even always have to be first date, just any stood up girl.

I am proud to say that I am what girls would find good looking. That is why I have to approach a girl cautiously and she is mine. I only go for hotties, obviously, and honestly, I get a lot. Last night I got four numbers from one movie!

Tonight, I assumed I hit jackpot. A super hot blonde was leaning against the wall next to the booth I was running. She had long tanned legs and her curly blond hair was tied into a half up half down. She had no make up at all, or very natural and she was extremely gorgeous. She had been checking her silver watch for the past ten minutes irritated and held two tickets to a movie in her hand.

I heard somebody clear their throat and I turned to see a customer. It was a guy with messy black hair, (he looked good) and he was slightly taller than me. He had a good tan and a muscular build with sea green eyes.

"Hey, you here?" he asked me with a grin. He had a New York accent - he was from around here. I smiled and nodded at him.

"What can I get you?" I asked him

"Two ice-creams and a large popcorn please" he said handing me a $30 bill.

I nodded and put his order on the counter while counting out his change. "You gonna eat that yourself?" I asked

"Maybe could, but no. My girlfriend is waiting for me, I've been in line for ten minutes." he said.

I chuckled and nodded, you have to be friendly for this job. I handed him his change which he stuck in his wallet, and he picked up his order. My watched beeped, and I grinned.

"Well, 7:00, my shift is over. bye" I said before running off to the blondie.

"Hey baby. Date didn't work out?" I asked her softly, and held her hand. She looked up at me, and she was even more gorgeous. She had beautiful grey eyes that were filled with intelligence, and her featured were perfect. She looked so beautiful, and I had never wanted a girl more. Hopefully, this would be easy.

"Date is going just fine, thanks" she snapped before twisting her hand out of my grip and gestured to the boy I had just served. He came over, both of the ice-cream cups balanced on the popcorn. I smiled and stood there awkwardly.

"Hey Annabeth, lets go. It's just past six and the movie starts at 7:15" he said, and handed her and ice-cream. He turned to me confused. "Um... hi?"

"Hey um..." Think fast Bryce!

"Your friend here was asking me how my date was going" said Annabeth in a false cheery tone.

"Dude, why?" the guy asked eyeing my suspiciously.

"I'm sorry man but..." Think! Think! "...I didn't know she was your girlfriend. It is not the same girl you showed me a picture of at school". Yes! The girl thinks the boy is cheating, and cue the jealous breakup. Then boom! she is mine. The reaction is not what I expected.

Annabeth started laughing. "You just appear in your cinema worker uniform, Percy has no idea who you are, and anyway, Percy hasn't gone to school in the... last... eight... months" she said between laughter. "I doubt he had anytime to show you pictures of girls, let alone the fact that he doesn't have a phone. Go back to you candy stand, I'm not your eye candy"

Percy spoke up next. "You told me your shift was over. Go home dude, and better luck next time. Get a girl who doesn't mind being taken by a random stranger" he said

I was taken aback. I had never been in a situation with a good looking girl taken by a good looking sassy boyfriend who can answer back. I had no idea what to do.

"Well are you going to leave?" asked Annabeth.

What should I have done? I turned and left utterly embarrassed. As I left them, I heard their conversation as they went towards the theater.

Percy said something along the lines of "If I got a dime for every time that happened..."

The girl, Annabeth, laughed. "You'd be able to afford all the blue candy in the world"

Eh, whatever. I have 57 numbers in my phone for moments like this. I walked to my car and sat inside pulling out my black phone. I scrolled through my contacts then stopped. Aha! I rang the number and pressed the phone to my ear.

"Hey Patricia? It's Bryce..."

Hi guys! Sorry if this chapter was a little short, but I was busy with school and stuff today. I'll make my next chapter longer for you. Lots of love, and thanks for reading!
