Yes, I know, I have already posted an ONC entry for this year, and I really love writing Sam Walker and the Grim Reaper Services, but inspiration struck me twice this year and not only did the death records prompt seize my interest, but also prompts 1 (die the hero or live to be the villain) and 20 (born to end the reign of terror but end up becoming it).
So here I am, entering two novellas in the contest this year. This second one, Lucius, is the polar opposite to Sam Walker, being a dark fantasy. It's heavily inspired by Roman society and history, since I am currently taking a class on the Roman Republic and Empire and these prompts just worked so well with some ideas I had gleaned from all the reading I've been required to do.
This novella will be updated as I find the time, and definitely let me know what you think of it! Votes and comments are very much appreciated, and I would love to hear how I can improve it!
Thanks for checking out Lucius! And good luck for all of you also participating in the ONC!
