The evening had finally set in all its glory, the sky setting into pinks and reds as if someone had spent their lifetime painting it. Though there were many other things to be admired, that including Jeon Irene who was patiently fiddling her fingers, a certain finger carried the engagement ring she was gifted by a man she had yet to meet. Her long hair was pulled into a neat bun covered in a sheer veil that fell down to her ankles which were unseen beneath layers of divine whites.
She had asked to be alone leading up to the moments of the wedding that would seal her into what would become her new family. Irene had been waiting for this moment for so long, bubbling in bitter anticipation, and it was finally here. Though she never had to wait so long, many men pined after the beautiful Irene, sweet and rich like honey, a delicacy. But she had always rejected the many asking for her hand.
She never wanted to marry, in truth. But her father had promised that if she was unwed on her 30th birthday he'd marry her off that very night. 10 years of adulthood all to herself, but now it was nearing its end. Today was her birthday and it was time for her husband-to-be to prove his worth to all the world beyond. Who could it be that caught the eyes of dear Irene?
"If Irene's fiancee is anything like Park fucking Chaeyoung, I pray for her" Jisoo muttered quietly while looking out from a balcony, eyes following after the blond hair rose who walked around aimlessly. "I know you didn't like her but this is a bit much even for you" Jennie stated from behind, sliding a wooden hair brush against Jisoo's long hair.
"Can't you tell? She's got something against everything and everyone here, how long till she bursts?" Jisoo said knowing Roseanne's attitude well. "If this is about Lady Im, I really don't think it's fair to say they are the same" Jennie said carefully. "You didn't know her like I did, don't forget." Jisoo suddenly stood and walked off. A long sigh fell from under Jennie's breath.
Irene never told Jisoo about her father's threats, but it wasn't difficult for her to figure it out upon seeing the strained smiles planted on her face anytime someone would mention the wedding. To be truthful, Jisoo had been almost fooled by the happy personality Irene grew into the past days just like everyone else had, but she was only making the best of her last days as Bae Irene, who only belongs to herself.
Jisoo also knew she herself would have to get married eventually, to one of those business tycoons or maybe even a politician to set bonds. Despite the way it sounded Jisoo knew it wouldn't be the medieval shit, where the princess would be sold off to a prince. If the prince was going to use the princess, Jisoo would just have to use him first.
"Come again?" Jimin sat looking at the man in front of him with wide eyes. "I messed up and I need you to delete the courtyard footage" Jungkook replied for the third time, slight annoyance building up. "What did you do? Make-out with a lady in broad daylight?" Jimin asks sitting up only to sit back down when Jungkook threw him a dark glare. "Not everyone is a man whore alright?" Jungkook seethed.
That's when you knew he was in an especially cranky mood. His words would come out as more of a growl than anything human. Like being in the presence of another being was enough to throw him off the edge. Regret was an ugly feeling indeed. Despite looking into teary eyes, he kept going, kept pushing. And for what? He has no idea.
Maybe it was a power move or maybe even a possessive feeling. But regardless Lisa was not his and would probably never be. She was too pure, too good. All his life he spent time around people that are cunning and always looking for something in return. He'd treated her like a speck of dust that day he fired her and took away her scholarship, he'd done things like this many times. Only now he seemed to realize maybe that wasn't worth doing. The least he could do is delete security camera film and make sure Lisa didn't lose her job again. "Most importantly, don't watch the film before deleting it, and knowing that you will watch it anyway, don't ask any questions and don't you dare try doing something without my knowledge" Jungkook ended with finality.
