Monday morning was a clean slate for many. The events of the night before had been let go, there was not enough time to ponder what could have been. Sunlight peered from the large windows creating paths of light that colored the bride from light to shadow each time she took a step.
"The silverware is to be silver but since the table accents are a muted gold shall we have it match?" A heavily stressed wedding planner asked from behind the bride. "I don't see why not" she answered earning a contained sign from the planner who simply stopped walking to take a break.
"Must you drive the planner insane like that noona?" Jungkook asked once he was in hearing distance. "Why does it matter if the table accents match the silverware, what is even the need for accents?" The bride said with a bright smile painted on her lips. Jungkook watched in amusement for his noona was not a particularly playful woman, the wedding was doing her well.
The two of them soon saw Jisoo and Jennie enter the hall from their own temporary bedroom as the two of them were going to be bridesmaids. "Irene, will you take the time to go over some of the dress preparations with the rest of the bridesmaids?" Jennie asked with excitement bubbling, she was always one to enjoy playing dress up. Jungkook took this as his cue to leave but to his dismay Irene had hooked her arm onto his shoulder. "Yes lets all go, we need a man's perspective too" Irene said grinning mischievously. Jungkook despised dress up.
The group entered the large green room modeled to look like a private boutique right within the manor. To the right was a seamstress stitching up a little sleeve who was taken by surprise. "Oh have you come to see the wedding dress? We just put it in the safe but I could retrieve it for you!" She exclaimed but Irene gave her a light smile, "No worries, I'm here to see the bridesmaids dresses and maybe do a fitting if they are finished". "Yes they are, let me go get them" The seamstress said before walking off.
Jisoo and Irene began their own small talk about the groom while Jennie began to browse through all the dresses set out. Jungkook felt awfully out of place and considered sneaking out but all his thoughts were cut off when he saw a familiar figure walking over with a pile of dresses to her nose.
Lisa didn't understand what she had done to get on Seulgi's bad side. She had told her earlier that working in the dress room would be easy and nothing at all but within the first morning Lisa had already stabbed herself with a needle seven times and that was not all. It was a great mystery how Lisa was so uncoordinated despite being a dancer. Though she wasn't much of one anymore.
"Would you like help?" A voice bounded from behind, and to Lisa's surprise it was Jeon Jungkook. The only reason Lisa agreed to stay in the dress room was because she was sure this very man wouldn't have any business to come here. Her luck was nonexistent at this rate.
"No thank you, please leave me alone" Lisa cut as she swiftly walked right past him to Jungkook's surprise. He wasn't quite sure what he was expecting, but last night he thought they had got to know each other better, clearly she still hated his guts. That was fine, Jungkook enjoyed a challenge.
Lisa carefully handed both Jennie and Jisoo their dresses and then showed them towards the changing rooms. It did not escape Jungkook the way Jisoo looked at Lisa. He had yet to tell her that this was the same woman that decreased the chances Jimin had of having children but Jisoo seemed to have her own way to sense it. She was frightening like that.
While they were waiting Jungkook managed to accidentally knock over the bowl of grapes with his elbow right into Lisa's direction where she almost slipped. Lisa worked diligently to let the annoyance not appear onto her face when she began to pick up the grapes with Jungkook watching just above.
When she looked up, she expected a satisfied look on his evil face but to her surprise his eyes were stricken with worry. She followed his line of sight to her ankle, a deep unflattering shade of purple from yesterday. Jungkook stood up to go to her but was halted by the reveal of Jennie and Jisoo both wearing floor length halter dresses shimmering in dusty pinks.
"I love them!" Irene exclaimed as Jennie did a twirl or two while Jisoo watched with a rare smile. The three of them turned to Jungkook with expecting faces. Startled Jungkook gave them a thumbs up. "That's all you have to say?" Irene pushed, "The dresses are nice. They suit both of you well" Jungkook finally said and it seemed to satisfy the women who all turned back to point out small adjustments that needed to be made with the seamstress leaving Jungkook and Lisa alone again.
Lisa was about to walk off again when Jungkook suddenly picked her up and walked straight out of the room without much of a word. Lisa was about to fight and protest when she saw his once ludic pair of orbs now dark and furious.
Jungkook kicked open a door and placed Lisa on the edge of a bed. He then disappeared into the bathroom leaving Lisa to her own confusion. She suspected that this was his room, but why did he bring her here. The answer was given when Jungkook walked back out of the bath room to crouch before Lisa's ankle. "I'm fine. this was unnecessary" Lisa quickly said about to pull her legs back but he held them in place and began to treat it with medicine.
She sat silently watching him carefully wrap her leg in bandages wondering if this was the same man who took her scholarship or the one who offered up jokes in peril. She didn't know if she preferred this Jungkook either, her mind was muddled in confusion. Why did it matter if she liked the way he was? What even did that mean!
"Take these, every night before you go to bed you should wrap it with clean bandages after you use the ointment." He said picking up her thoughts. "Thank you" Lisa said standing up with a new ease. "You should have told me you were hurt last night, I made you walk far, it must have made it worse" He said with a slightly calmer tone. So that was it, he was feeling guilty, Lisa told herself. "I didn't even notice it then" Lisa said as the two of them walked to his door, and it was the truth. "Don't go getting yourself stuck again, can't say I can always come to your rescue each time doll" he said with mockery. There was the Jungkook she recognized again.
In the evening the atmosphere grew even more busier. The groom's sister was to arrive in just a couple of hours. Irene had insisted that girl should be one of the her bridesmaids despite never even meeting her before. The only known information between the manor's workers was that she studied music abroad, not even her name. It was no secret that everyone was looking forward to meeting the girl, except for the octet that was not known for their welcoming aura to say the least.
"Is this woman so important that I had to waste my time being here?" Yoongi grumbled, "Aw thank you for your love!" Jennie taunted. "If it weren't for unnie I wouldn't have asked us all to be here" Jisoo said remembering Irene's wish that the new girl would get along with everyone.
"You should back me up here Jungkook, she's going to be your cousin in law soon" Jisoo continued. "Right, let's not scare her off then" He said with a shrug of his shoulders, "Oh and Jimin, try to keep your hands to yourself this time". Suddenly a worker barged into the room with tired movements. "Excuse me but she's here"
The group was escorted outside to the evening sky into the outskirts of the large rose garden where a car was parked. They were the last to arrive as a handful of maids and Irene were already present. Once the door finally opened the first thing to be seen was a large leather case the shape of a guitar. A guard quickly went to pick it up and out came a young woman dressed in casual wear with shiny blond hair flowing past her shoulders.
"Park Chaeyoung, it's so nice to finally meet you".
