"No, no. You got it completely wrong," Lexie shrinked her nose in disgust, pointing her cup of milkshake at him. "There's just no way in God's green Earth that someone with a sane mind would think that David Bowie's not a overrated genius. It's the Freddie Mercury all over again!"

James took a sip of his chocolate milkshake, trying not to laugh at the very serious Lexie and her black beanie. "How so? I mean, I fully agree with you about Freddie but why is it the same with Bowie? I kind of see a pattern here."

"There's no patterns, you're blind. Listen," She was willing to refute him with her whole life, and she would. "Bowie is a fucking legend and we all know that, but people don't really listen to his whole records and you know it. I bet my house and my ass that the people who own his records just bought them to frame 'em on the wall and show their guests how cultured and cool they are. It drives me nuts."

James nodded at that, crossing his arms in front of his chest. "Do you think people do the same with Metallica? Or, like, are we so dumb that people don't use us as a trophy or some shit like that."

"I don't know now, because people seem to genuinely enjoy your songs and stuff, but I definitely see it happening on the future," She rested her chin on top of her hand. "Y'know? Like, grandpas that were teenagers or young adults now showing off their Metallica records to their grandchildren, saying that the music of their generation is all wrong and shit. It happened to Black Sabbath! It can happen to literally anyone who tries to innovate."

"Well, you know the saying, right?"

"No. What saying?"

"I dunno, just tried to look smarter in this conversation," He confessed, surprised to hear her giggle since she never laughed at his jokes. "Y'know what, for someone who despises people so much like yourself, you actually know a lot about them."

She rolled her eyes. "I don't despise people, I really don't. I actually think that people ㅡ humans, they're pretty neat. I just don't like that everyone needs to be so loud and touchy-feely with each other and anyone that doesn't behave like that is labeled as crazy or... Weird."

"But being weird is not necessarily a bad thing. I think it's actually pretty badass," James scratched his own chin, admiring how easy it was for them to conversate about literally everything. "I mean, a lot of my idols are weird as fuck and I am too. I kind of like it."
