As soon as he woke up that very morning, James already wanted to go out and bathe underneath the sun's bright rays. He didn't know what had gotten into him, but he wasn't going to neglect it ㅡ he felt as if he was happy again.

He took a long and warm shower to feel his muscles relax much more, murmuring the lyrics of a song he didn't remember the title of to himself while dressing up comfortably to stay at home.

"Good morning, my dudes," He smiled at his bandmates, not surprised to see them still wearing that tired, sleepy face. "Is that egg I smell? God damn it, I love me some eggs and toast."

Lars' brows furrowed together in confusion. "Why are you so fockin' happy? It's literally eight in the morning, for God's sake."

James didn't bother to answer him, just chuckling at his bad morning temper while taking a huge bite out of his toast with the egg on top.

Kirk shook his head at Lars. "Let him be, Larsy. He's happy 'cuz he got himself a girlfriend, right?"

"She's not my girlfriend," He sat down at the table, playfully yanking the juice jar out of Lars' hands before flashing him a toothy grin. "She's just my very weird and philosophical friend."

Jason smiled at Kirk, doubting the truth of his words. "You should invite her over, man. For dinner or some shit like that. We can cook for her!"

"I'm not cookin' for anyone but myself." Lars chirped in, rolling his eyes.

"Shut up, Lars," Kirk pointed at him, smiling at James while side-hugging Jason. "And yes, ya should invite 'er over! I want to meet the chick, for real. Like, what the hell's so special 'bout her that makes you smile all big?"

James chuckled, once again not answering the question thrown at him, at least not to them. But to himself, he thought deeply about that while munching down on his toast ㅡ did he really smile all big whenever Lexie was around? Or even mentioned?

He had the answer for that shortly after, when the phone that hung on the white wall started to ring really loudly and insistently, making him frown in confusion when he heard Lexie's voice on the other side.

James couldn't remember if he gave her his number or not, so you could imagine how surprised he was after being certain that it was her ㅡ because she called him a turd mountain.
