I wake up, to my phone alarm going off on the coffee table and sit up, untangling my legs from his. I stand up and stretch, shutting off my alarm and running to my room to change into my work uniform.

When I'm changed, I go back to the kitchen and make myself a bowl of cereal. I eat quickly and rush out the door, into the cool morning air. I take a deep breath and walk to the staircase, passing the broken elevator. If I ever find the person that broke it, I'll kill them... it's awful trying to get up these stairs on grocery days.

I finally reach my work place and step inside, clocking in and grabbing my apron off the hook. The day starts off slow and boring, until the early morning rush starts, this is why I hate mondays... by the time the rush is over, I'm already exhausted and in the mood to go home.

I lay my head on the counter, in exhaustion. I hear a light chuckle and lift my head up slowly to see the same guy from the day before, "you okay Sugar?" He asks gently and I nod, "the monday morning rush just came through," I explain and he smiles "well, that's fun." He chuckles, looking up at the menu "I'll just get a regular coffee, black," I put in his order and tell him the price, he once again hands me more money than needed, telling me to "keep the change," I smile and shove it into my pocket "not gonna argue," I say with a small giggle, handing him his coffee.

The next few work days pass by the same way, before I have an off day, Thank god it's friday, they're always better than sundays... I pull out my phone and decide to text Gerard, I pull the paper out of my pocket and type it into my phone, setting his contact name: Gerald. I laugh at myself and send him a quick message so he knows my number. Heh, Gerald, he hates it when I do that. He texts back sooner than I expect.

Gerald: Hey, Sugar! I was wondering when you'd text...

Hey, yeah I'm off work today and my roommates on a date or somethin' idk

Gerald: Well that's no fun :(

Eh, I'm used to it lol

Gerald: huh, we can maybe go do something?

I stare at my screen in shock, he wants to do something with me?

Gerald: I mean only if you wanna

Sure, why not. What do you wanna do?

Gerald: it's about lunch time, we can go do that, maybe see a movie?

This sounds like some kind of cheesy date...

Sure, sounds fun.

Gerald: Mkay, want me to come pick you up?

That'd be nice since I dont have a car lol

Gerald: Where?

I tell him where my apartment complex is and my room number so he can come up if I'm not ready when he gets here.

Theres a key under the mat.

Giving him that information would be something I'd regret in the future...

Gerald: alright on my way!

I get up from the couch and walk to my room, looking for something to wear

I get up from the couch and walk to my room, looking for something to wear. I decided to just keep it "simple" and get dressed quickly, before rushing off to the bathroom. I brush my hair quickly and do my makeup.

I hear the front door open and poke my head out of the bathroom "Gerard?" I call into the living room and he looks at me, a smile forming on his face. "Hey Y/N!" He says excitedly, "are you ready?" He asks and I smile, "yeah, let's go!" I grab my bag and follow him out the door and locking it behind me.

We make our way down the stairs and to his car, climbing in and buckling up. He pulls the car out of the parking lot and we start making our way to the same diner Frank and I often eat at. I smile as we pull into a parking space and climb out of the car.

"Y/N! Oh, who's this?" Rebecca asks, looking him up and down, then smirking at me. "This is my friend Gerard," I say politely as she takes us to a booth. I sit and she looks at me, pouting lightly and crossing her arms "Damn it, Y/N I thought you finally found someone..." she whines and I shrug "sorry Becca, not the case here..." I trail off, sending an apologetic look towards Gerard. He smiles back and shrugs.

When we finish eating, I try to pay my portion of the check; but he argues, insisting on paying for me. I sigh and allow him to do so, god(s), why is he doing this? I don't need his help I can- my thoughts are cut off when I hear someone beside me clear their throat. I turn and look up to see Gerard standing beside me, smiling and holding out a hand to help me up. I smile and grab his hand, letting him help me from the booth.

As we walk from the booth, he doesnt release my hand, instead he intertwines our fingers as he leads me to the door. Okay, really what's up with this guy? When we make it to the car, he releases my hand and opens the door for me. This is... odd. I buckle up as he climbs into the driver side and pulls out of the parking lot.

When we make it to the theater, he jumps out of the car, opening my door before I have the chance to do so. I climb out of the passenger door and mutter a small "thank you." He smiles and intertwines our fingers again. I feel a feeling of dread rising into my throat, but I brush it to the side. Why is he acting like this all of a sudden? Why does it bother me? I thought I liked him, I mean, he's cute...

We walk through the doors and get our tickets, before stepping up to the concession counter to get snacks. We each get what we want and a large bucket of popcorn, he once again insists on paying no matter how hard I try. So I let him...

When we're finally seated in the theater, watching previews, he turns to me. "Do you believe in love at first sight Y/N?" He asks in an artificially calm voice, like when a doctor tells you everythings going to be okay, and it's really not. My eyebrows furrow and I shake my head "well, I do," he whispers before moving to hold my hand in his. "How about fate?" He asks, his gaze moving discreetly from my eyes to my lips for a split second before moving back up. "Uh, no... not- not really," I pull my hand out of his and turn back to face the screen. "Will you be my girlfriend?" He asks suddenly and I turn to him, "Gerard," I laugh lightly, assuming he was joking. His face contains a look of all seriousness and I stop laughing immediately "I'm not really ready for that with you dude, I've only known you for about a week..." he looks down, a hint of sadness on his face, before his head snaps back up.
