Wilbur Soot had lost his mind.

Technoblade never thought he'd have to see his close ally and brother fall to madness, yet there he was. The poor ex-patriot in front of him proved all of his suspicions true, watching him twitch and delve deeper into his panicked, gibberish spewing state. Wilbur would cry against the stone floor, quivering and yelling about his "unfinished symphony" his precious L'manberg, curses to Schlatt, and promises to Tommy. Technoblade never understood his affinity for Tommy, he could smell traitor all over the boy, I mean look how fast he abandoned his brother to chase pipe dreams with his friend?

The pig man brushed his long pink hair back and watched as Wilbur tried to stand yet once again collapsed on the floor, another fit of crying and breakdowns today, and as much as Techno craved the chaos, as much as he'd love to see the collapse of a corrupt ruler, he could tell Wilbur would be the same. His hatred for Schlatt was burning yet not because the goat man was evil himself, but because he brought up an unjust and diplomatic government while preaching democracy. His skin crawled with bits of anger every time he visited, bits of pity for Wilbur with every wall torn down, every glance at Fundy. No wonder why Eret left.

Fundy.. oh poor Fundy. He'd lost not only his father but was immediately taken by Schlatt in hopes of a new patriarchal role in his life. He'd fallen quick influence and Techno could see those horns growing on the fox from a mile away. It left a sour taste in Techno's mouth, who previously believed he wasn't capable of feeling sympathy. As the dim cave lights of Pogtopia illuminated the trio, Techno turned his eyes to Dream. Both masked men locked eyes and for a moment Dream looked dead. A cold, masked glare could be felt through the ceramic smiley on his face. Barren, and almost fake, however when he locked eyes with Techno he seemed to crack a concerned and almost forced smile.

Then, Techno would kneel behind his brother and touch his shoulder. Wilbur would yell, flinging back into Technoblades arms as he huffed. Dream brandished his ax threateningly yet Wilbur paid no mind, too busy flinging himself backward in a fit of pure hysteria.

"Wilbur, you're losing yourself again."

He'd say gruffly, pulling the pathetic man to his feet. He pitied him and for some reason, couldn't bring himself to put the poor guy out of his misery. However, the ominous look of Dream behind him made him think, just for a second, that he was going to swing down that blade on them both. Wilbur would gasp and wheeze, calming himself down before sitting up, adjusting his glasses. He'd clear his throat and Technoblade would rise to his feet.

"Did you find them?"

Technoblade nodded eagerly, stepping forward and gesturing to Wilbur.

"We found their base, few miles out from Pogtopia, by a river. I wanted to blow it to shreds but Dream stopped me."

Dream nodded and then turned to Wilbur, however, Technoblade kept a close eye on him. The dark-tinted corners of the cave caused the trio to look much more ominous than probably given, and all of their intentions were scattered, who knew if they'd maintain each other's trust, or if they even had it to begin with.

"I hope you remembered your side of the deal, Wilbur." Dream said in a low, almost hushed tone. Techno had tried to scan him for weeks, yet he couldn't get where he was coming from or what he wanted. Tension began to build as Wilbur snapped.

"Yeah yeah green boy, just gets Tommy back... he's all I have left of my L'manberg.. all I have left.."

Wilbur began to collapse on himself again, and Techno gripped his arm, keeping him on his feet.

"Get yourself together."

He hissed, and Wilbur squinted.

"The TNT is set, right? R-right?!' Wilbur spat frantically, mind racing with thoughts. Explosions, explosions, explosions! Death, blood, bombs, Tommy, Philza, Schlatt. Curse Schlatt. Manberg is wrong. My L'manberg. Mine. Those were the thoughts careening through his head, barely having time to register. He began to pace up and down the staircases as he continued to ramble. Techno nodded, explained the trap and where the button was, but knew Wilbur probably couldn't bring himself to do it. Techno knew deep down he'd have to press that button. He'd have to watch Wilbur scream as he destroyed it. He knew it had to be done whether Wilbur wanted to or not. Then, he turned to Dream, no longer listening to Wil's rambles. However, his mind continued to race. After he had shot Tubbo in the chest with the rocket everyone had screamed and fled the scene. He'd beaten Tommy to a pulp in the pit, and Schlatt swore there'd be a hearing. An apology, and a get together. Since Tubbo was presumed dead, Fundy quickly took up his place as an aspirational young boy with no father.

"You know I've got to go to the hearing, right?" Technoblade said, semi suspicious of Dream, as he usually was.

"Yep, I've got watch over the madman. Y 'hear Fundy's giving a forgiveness speech? Ironic as hell considering that's Wilbur's kid." Dreams voice emanated a highly sarcastic and slightly foreboding tone, brandishing his ax more. He'd then start leaving Pogtopia, Technoblade following.

"What are your intentions, Technoblade.?"

Dream would ask this rather nonchalantly, turning his head in a clearly cocky manner as they prepared to split at an intersection in the woods. That kind of charisma would normally overwhelm anyone, however, Technoblade was unfazed, and if anything, a little uncomfortable.

"Why are you asking? Wasn't my business when I asked you-" he'd reply sarcastically as the tension continued to build.

"Well, I just think it's funny how we're both bowing down to the crazy guy.."

Dream would say this in an almost persuasive tone. Not this again.

"If you're trying to convince me to overthrow hi-"

"no, no-no. I NEVER said that, you said that. I have George and Sapnap to go back to. I can't believe you'd even think of overthrowing your dear brother! Poor guy's gone mad! Shame on you."

Dream smirked as he said this, his chiding aura becoming more and more accusatory. Technoblade didn't like this, not one bit. He hated when Dream did this, started to pry at him. He gritted his teeth and adjusted his mask, stopping dead in his tracks.

"Listen Dream. I may not know what the hell you're after but there are two things I don't like. Orphans and corrupt governments. I'm here to get Schlatt out of office, and keep government away."

Dream stepped back and chuckled, mask gleaming in the moonlight as he began to walk off back to his base, the ambiance of the night dead quiet compared to the thick, foggy tension between them.

"Thanks for the info! I'll be sure to keep that in mind, and, you and I just might have the same goals."

There it was again. That persuasive tone made Technoblades blood boil. He couldn't explain the feelings he felt, why he couldn't swing that blade down on his brother's head, and why he couldn't challenge Dream. Who would've thought the man capable of burning a country down couldn't mercy kill one or two men. He felt pathetic, almost worthless yet.. as he walked back to his base in the mountains he could've sworn that look in Dreams eyes earlier, was a look of no mercy...
