I'm like super late to update this..
Anyway, ENJOY❤️♾Seoul....
"Hyung, I told you, I don't want anything" Jungkook said for the millionth time.
"Yes you do" Jin said, "it's okay, I'll leave it outside, take it whenever you feel hungry."
Jin knew it- all too well, what Jungkook was going through. Maybe for him it was slightly different, but he still had his fair share of experience of growing without parents.
It wasn't fair, he always thought life had been unfair to him, but then he met Jungkook- the little 4 year old boy dropped off by Ragnor Fell in front of the institute. He could still recall Jungkook's big, scared yet inquisitive doe eyes, his overflowing nose, his long hair covering most of his face. He looked so vulnerable, so oblivious to the world around him and completely fascinated by the green warlock who brought him to the Seoul institute. Jin had always been confused about everything, but this was perhaps the first time he felt sure of something- he had to take care of this boy, no matter what.
Jungkook had no idea about himself, that he was a Shadowhunter. His parents had disassociated from the Clave a long time back, they lived mundane lives in Busan- far away from their lives as Shadowhunters and their mandate. So obviously Jungkook had no idea either. Being a shaodowhunter, he obviously had the sight- he knew he was anything but a normal child, even though he went to a mundane school with normal kids and grew up around humans, he realized he saw the world differently, things others couldn't see.
It was when his parents were killed, in front of him. It was a huge demon. The poor boy didn't even know that demons existed- of course he had been scared of monsters under his bed since forever but it was that day he realized that the monsters were indeed demons.
His entire family was sitting peacefully, having dinner. It was Jungkook's fourth birthday and his mom had made all of his favorite dishes. They were all so happy, dancing to Jungkook's favorite songs, singing along together, cutting the cake and putting it over Jungkook's face when they heard the loudest growl.
Even though Jungkook was barely old enough, he knew that was not normal. Nothing normal could ever make that sound. They heard it again, this time louder and closer.
His parents exchanged a quick glance like they knew what was to come but obviously Jungkook had no idea what was happening. He asked his parents what was going on but they kept talking amongst themselves and his dad asked his mom to hide him.
That was the last time he saw his dad, taking out a dagger from under the table- he had no idea how it got there.. But his mom took him away after that.
She picked him up and ran, ran as fast as she could. Jungkook kept wailing- kept asking her where were they going, why was she crying and why were they leaving his dad behind but she didn't say anything.
When she finally stopped, she put him down and asked him to keep sitting there. She promised that she would be back with his dad as soon as they could and they'll take him.
Turned out- she lied. She never came back for him. It was the next day that a tall, green man with white hair came out of the house she had left him in front of and found Jungkook sleeping on the steps.
One glance and the green guy understood that the boy was a Shadowhunter- obviously unmarked since he was still a kid- but he most definitely had Angel blood.
He tried to ask him about who he was or where he came from.. But the boy wasn't speaking. Ragnor kept wondering what fate must've done to the little boy- but then he pulled on his cloak. He probably wanted to take him somewhere, so Ragnor followed him.
He took him to a house- not a house, whatever it was, it was in shambles. The boy didn't speak anything, just kept searching through the rubble, found a fragment of a shirt, searched more furiously but the building had literally collapsed. It would almost be impossible for him to look for anything here.
So he did the only thing that came to his mind, took him to the nearest institute in Seoul.
If Jungkook was scared to be traveling alone with a green warlock, he didn't show it. He seemed oblivious to his Shadowhunter background, naive and innocent, trying to act very strong. He tried to ask him about his parents but he just shook his head.
Once they reached, he explained the entire situation to the institute heads, who gladly took him in. The most enthusiastic, however was the Seokjin boy- the part faerie.
Jungkook always spent the entire day in his room, skipped meals and did anything but interact on the anniversary of the day he set foot in the institute- the day he got to know about his heritage. Nobody pushed him much, Jungkook always liked to remain secluded anyway. He barely interacted with anyone- it's not like he didn't like them, he loved them, they were the only family he had- but it was still difficult for him to show love.. It was almost as if it had been engraved in his mind- that the people he loved would be taken away from him..
But that didn't mean that Jin would stop trying. He would literally do anything to make the younger smile. He knew all of Jungkook's likes and dislikes- he always made him whatever he wanted to eat, always pampered him the most. Once he literally called mundane magicians even though it was technically banned for Shadowhunters to associate with them- only because Jungkook was being adamant on seeing one. They could've easily found a warlock- but no, Jungkook wanted to see those stupid mundane magic tricks, and Jin couldn't see him upset, so he obliged, without telling anyone. If Namjoon knew, he'd most definitely kill him.
Jin was the eldest among all the Shadowhunters currently residing in the institute. Even though Yoongi, Hoseok and Namjoon were the same age as him, he was still elder to Yoongi by two months.. Despite that, Namjoon headed the institute. Jin didn't really trust himself with positions of power. Plus, the Clave is still skeptical about giving someone with Faerie blood in them power to run an institute. He doesn't blame them, the Fae haven't exactly been friendly to the Shadowhunters.
Jin was part Fae, his father was a Shadowhunter and his mom a Faerie. And being a mixed blood had some merits and demerits. He knew people around him would almost always doubt him, they may or may not show it, but they would.. not his family though, not the inhabitants of the institute, but the rest. Plus, he had pointed ears- just like warlocks had a mark to distinguish them, Fae-Shadowhunters did too, for Jin, it was his ears.. They were slightly pointed, not that he minded them, in his opinion, they just made him look more handsome.
Jin had never really visited the realm of the Faeries- he didn't even know his mother, or if she was dead or alive. One could say it was forbidden for him to go there, it didn't matter if you were a mixed breed, if you have Angel blood in you, you're a Shadowhunter above all else.
Well, someday.. Someday he would go see his mother.
