Lia's POV:
"Lia." Whispered a voice.
"Lia, come on."
"Wake up."
"Lia!"
Shooting out of bed, I look around frantically, only to sigh at a concerned Ranboo.
"What?" I grumble, rubbing my face. He frowns.
"Lia, it's noon and you need to leave before Phil or Techno see you." He explains, gesturing to his house that I fell asleep in.
"Right, sorry." I mumble, getting out of the warm bed and making my way to his chest where he has random things scattered.
"Are you alright? Sorry that I woke you, but we both know how they would act if they found out you stayed the night." I nod, not looking at my friend as I grab one of his black hoodies with a crown sewn into it and pulling it over my head.
"Yeah." I mumble, beginning to make his bed.
"Are you sure?" He asks in his stupid concerned voice.
"I'm fine, alright!" I yell, him flinching. "Just tired." I add, guilt filling my body as I walk to his mirror.
"Lia... it's okay not to be alright. I'm always here for you." I nod, not trusting him at all. After yesterday's events, Ranboo and Tubbo hung out while I trailed behind, not having much to do. I ended up sleeping at his house since it was late and monsters were lurking everywhere. I don't know why I don't trust him, I always have. But whenever people tell me they would be here for me, they never are. Always leave one way or another.
"Where are Phil and Techno?" I ask, hoping I can leave the property without the two seeing me.
"Um-" he cuts himself off when the fence door upstairs swings open, the creaking echoing through the basement.
"Shit." I whisper as two sets of footsteps walk around above us. Ranboo gives me alarmed eyes as he looks around for a place for me to hide.
"Uh, uh, how abou-, uh." Ranboo whispers, looking in chests and compartments that are all filled to the brim for me to hide in.
"Ranboo why don't you have a hideaway?!" I whisper-yell at him while he shrugs, looking and digging through things. We both snap our heads to the ladder as someone begins to come down it.
"Hey, Ranboo I got you some food since you said you were low-" Phil cuts himself off when he sees me, Techno coming down the ladder as well.
"Well shit." I whisper, Ranboo standing up straight next to me.
"Oh?" Techno's monotone voice asks, looking between us making me sneer at him.
"She just fell asleep." Ranboo gets out quickly.
"Yeah." I mumble, trying to get past the two to leave.
"Ah ah ah, not yet." Phil shakes his head, blocking the ladder.
"What." I ask, disgust dripping in my tone.
"Sam wants to see you." His tone is blunt and uncaring.
I smile slightly at the comforting name but drop it when I remember where I am, nodding quickly and climbing up the wood ladder as fast as I can.

"Sam?" I call out, rounding the corner to the hotel which looks amazing, might I add. It seems to be finished too, with the tall structure and the scaffolding cleared.
"Lia! Hey." I grin at Sam as he comes into view, his green hair bouncing slightly as he walks.
"Hi! Phil told me you wanted to see me." I explain, walking up to him.
"Oh, right. Look, I'm really proud of how far Tommy has come, he worked hard for this hotel even if he just collected simple things. He's starting to actually try, and with the armor I've been giving him, enhancing each time, he's starting to protect himself better." This news makes my smile grow. I didn't realize Sam was trying to help Tommy, to be fair, no one really does.
"I'll let him know." I reply softly.
"Great, I'm only saying this because I won't be here for the opening of the hotel." I nod understandingly.
"When is the hotel finished?" I ask, looking at the huge building.
"Almost done, I wanna add some more decorations and some signs to explain some things to Tommy." I nod again and look up at the cloudy sky. A silence follows Sam's words. It's not uncomfortable, more of an understanding silence.
"Thanks Sam. For everything you've done for us." I say softly. He smiles widely and nods, hugging me in the process.
"Of course Lia." He says, pressing his cheek to my head.

Third Person POV:"Ranboo are you okay?" Lia asks, looking up from the parchment she was writing on to watch her friend closely. His breathing was slowly getting faster and he was mumbling things to himself, the girl also knows he does this to calm himself down and doesn't like to bring these situations up so she stayed quiet, but it's been happening to long.
"...no?" He answers, voice higher and quivering slightly. She sits up quickly, placing her things down and moving over slightly.
"What-what can I do?" She asks, watching as he stares at the ground as if in his own world.
"Nothing." He responds on the same tone and pitch of voice making Lia feel a pang in her chest at her helpless friend.
"Look-"
"I'm gonna go hang out with Tubbo I'll be back soon." He cuts her off, standing up and leaving the small cottage Lia's been living in.
"But-"
"No no, it's alright." Ranboo leaves, flashing a useless smile to her before closing the door. The girl frowns, picking up her parchment and quill before making her way to her small bedroom where plants hung.
Sighing, she picks up the first book off her desk which happens to be 'Dear Liana'. There's no author and doesn't look to be professional so she guesses Karl found it in his library from an ancestor of a sort. Opening the book, the smell of old paper and candles fill her room making her smile slightly, beginning to read.
Dear Liana,
You left tonight. I survived with Sir. Billium. I'm so sorry I lied, I didn't want you to get hurt. I had to do the things I deeply regret, for I'd break my promise with you, my love.
You were too young to leave this world, though, I'm not entirely sure where you've gone by now. Maybe you are back with your family, you never brought them up, I do hope you have a family though, it would make me feel better.
Sir. Billium believed you died and my lie which saved us both. I wish I knew more about you, you seemed amazing at first, you also thought that of me, however.
Maybe I'm so attached to you because I know I'll never meet another like you. Maybe it is the beauty I've rested my eyes upon tonight. Either way, I'll always have a space for you in my disgusting heart.
Karl was very upset about you, excused himself for a whole quarter of an hour, he simply said he got lost when he returned, though his bloodshot eyes and scratchy voice said otherwise. Something went on between you two, I know it. I wish I actually know what though, he got taken.
At least you didn't have to experience the pain the others did.
Love,
John
