Whenever a girl would say they weren't like other girls, you would probably roll your eyes. It was a little offensive, implying that being like a stereotypical girl was wrong and should be frowned upon. Like being similar to a majority of people was something horrible to be, that you had to be different from everyone else.
But in Y/n Dooley's case, it was a true statement. She wasn't like other girls. Sure, she had multiple similarities but there was one thing that stood out about her.
She was bionic. She had a small variety of abilities such as super intelligence, super speed, and some others.
Y/n wasn't born a Dooley. She was adopted by a woman named Tasha when she was three years old. She has a brother named Leo who's the same age as her. Sometimes being in a small family, one that she wasn't even born into, made her feel a little lonely. But it meant that there were fewer people to worry about keeping her secret.
But her family had just gotten a little bigger. She and Leo carried their suitcases into their new home, owned by their new father Donald Davenport. As they carried suitcases, Mr. Davenport carried his new wife into the home they were ready to share.
"Welcome home, Mrs. Davenport." Mr. Davenport gave her a big grin that she returned.
"Why thank you, Mr. Davenport." Y/n gagged and Leo groaned as they witnessed the exchange. Leo burst in annoyance, telling them that getting married didn't mean you had to be so sickly sweet with each other. Y/n agreed with her brother before they both marveled at the house they were now living in.
"Woah!" Y/n turned in her place to get a full view, "You got this house just by inventing stuff?" Mr. Davenport nodded at her. Her eyes landed on a metal contraption and walked towards it.
"What is that?" Leo asked, following Y/n's eyes. Davenport set their mother down, which gave the teens instant relief, and said, "That's my latest invention. Davenport Industries' first-ever completely interactive 3D TV." He did something to it that turned it on and they started watching a baseball game. The player with the bat swung and a baseball started coming towards Y/n and Leo. They both bumped into each other racing out to catch it and crashed into the wall behind them.
"Watch the face, termites!" They could hear from the wall behind them. They both jumped, Leo farther and higher than Y/n. He turned to his mother.
"Mom, I think the little voice inside my head is back." Y/n laughed at the statement which earned her a glare from her brother. Mr. Davenport stepped forward and gestured for the teens to look at the wall that spoke.
"That voice was actually my smart home system, Eddy," He looked at Eddy, who looked annoyed despite not having many facial features, "Eddy, these are my new step kids, Leo and Y/n. I told you that Tasha and her kids were moving in today."
"Welcome," Eddy smiled at the new guests, "Everything here is mine!" Y/n pouted, quoting Stephanie Tanner from Fuller House by saying "How rude." which earned a laugh from the room. Davenport took Y/n and Leo by the shoulders and led them towards a hallway.
"Why don't you go check out your new rooms? When you see the room with all the video games and the action figures and the 50-foot screen TV," Leo and Y/n were being filled with joy and excitement with every word, "Keep walking, that's mine." He nudged them to go down the hallway and the teens' faces fell.

Once Y/n had found her room, she made her way to Leo's. She leaned against his door frame as he looked around.
"This place is huge! I'm gonna need a GPS just to find the bathroom!" He leaned against the wall next to his sister and they looked at each other with huge grins.
