"Oh, this is so exciting!" Tasha brought a suitcase into the living room, smiling at her husband Donald. She set the case next to the couch, where her children and Adam, Bree, and Chase sat. "I've never been to Australia before."
Eddy popped up on the screen next to the front door.
"Maybe you'll like it so much you won't want to come back!" Tasha rolled her eyes. At this point, she was used to the comments that the smart home system would make. She turned her attention back to Donald.
"Do you have the plane tickets?" Her husband laughed as if it was a silly question to ask.
"Honey, we're taking my fully automated private jet. Plane tickets. Why don't we just slap on a bunch of stamps and mail ourselves there." He continued to laugh and Tasha shrugged nonchalantly.
"Private jet. That works." She quickly turned to her kids. Leo was sitting on the floor leaning against Adam's legs and Y/n was sitting with Chase on the part of the couch that stuck out, fiddling with the fingers on one of his hands.
"Score!" They whispered to each other before Tasha turned back to Donald. He came up next to her and looked at Leo and Y/n.
"Okay, guys, this is your chance to prove you're responsible enough to stay at home without us."
"Me?" Leo asked, seemingly offended. "What about them?" He gestured to Adam, Bree, and Chase.
"They were designed to go on missions and save the world. You were designed to break stuff."
"And I was designed to add that extra sparkle to all of your bland lives." Y/n smiled proudly at her comment. Leo scoffed.
"DOn't worry, I know the rules: no touchy-touchy your stuffy-stuffy."
"Guys, I'm serious. There's millions of dollars worth of technology here. So no goof-ups, no explosions, no fires-" Davenport cut himself off. "You know what? I'm not going." Tasha's eyes widened. Nothing was taking this trip away from her.
"I'll go," Y/n said before her mom spoke up.
"Donald, they will be responsible. Leo's a big boy and Y/n's a big girl." She turned to her children. "Sweeties, I left your flame-retardant undies on your dressers."
"Flame-retardant undies, huh?" Chase whispered to Y/n with a mocking smirk. She slapped his chest, telling him to shut up.
"Mr. Davenport, Leo and Y/n will be fine. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?" Bree assured.
"Funny you should ask." Chase smiled at his sister before turning to Davenport. "I've made an actuary chart that covers every possible catastrophe. You have an 82% chance of coming back to a perfectly normal house. Happy travels."
"DOn't worry!" Tasha tried to keep her husband from freaking out over the other eighteen percent. "Eddy is here to monitor every room in the house. He's like a virtual babysitter."
"Privacy not included." Y/n groaned.
"And I virtually care about you kids," Eddy spoke. Leo stood up from his spot and patted his step dad on the shoulder.
"Big D, we got this. No explosion, no goof-ups, no fires, no floods-" Davenport interrupted him with a panicked look.
"I didn't think about floods."
Tasha grabbed her suitcase and pulled her husband to the door. They said their goodbyes to the kids.
"Be careful. There's an inflatable raft in the closet." Davenport said as Tasha tried to pull him out of the house. As soon as the door shut, Adam jumped up from his spot.
