Crush, Chop, and Burn Part 2

Y/n and Leo sadly walked into the lab. Yesterday's news depressed them more than one could expect. They were already so attached to the Davenport trio, and they were being ripped away.

"What are you doing?" Leo asked Chase, who walked around with a box. He put in thumbtacks, staplers, pens, any ordinary little thing.

"If Davenport is gonna ship us off to some remote facility, then the office supplies are coming with us." Despite the sad atmosphere, Y/n laughed at the boy's actions. She decided to sit on one of the islands with Bree, who had a permanent pout on her face.

"We just got our first taste of normal life. I was this close to getting a curfew that I was totally gonna break." Y/n patted the girl's knee in sympathy. Adam perked up despite the situation they were in.

"Oh! But maybe when we get to wherever we're going, we'll meet a sassy lab chimp named Bobo who will take us on adventures and teach us how to love." The others gave him weird looks. Chase jumped on the island, sandwiching Y/n between him and his sister.

"Or maybe you'll make him angry and he'll maul you and snack on your fingers." Adam gasped at the morbid comment, telling his younger brother that he was the only one allowed to create monkey fantasies. Whatever that meant.

Eddy popped up on one of the screens overhead. Sure, he was just a doodled 'E' but he was annoying as hell.

"Well, kids. I hope you've enjoyed your stay at casa Davenport. I know I haven't. Sayonara!" He smiled happily, too happy for a cartoon.

"Eddy, I know we've never been the best of friends, but we're gonna miss you," Bree said.

"Aw. Really?"

"No!"

"We hate you!"

"You're evil!"

"You suck!" Adam, Bree, and Chase looked at the last person who spoke. Y/n shrugged and looked back at the three.

"What? I just wanted to be a part of something. What's so wrong with that?"

Leo shook his head and looked at Eddy.

"Where is this training facility anyway?"

"Facility X? Oh, it's all the rage." Eddy was replaced with a picture. It was a beautiful green island surrounded by ocean. Ooh's and ahh's filled the room.

"That's pretty nice," Chase said. Y/n nudged him.

"Maybe it won't be that bad after all."

"Oops! Sorry!" Eddy ruined the nice atmosphere like he usually did, "That's my screen saver. You're going here." The island was replaced by a camp. Covered in snow. Just the sight of it gave the kids shivers.

"Forget about office supplies." Chase had a blank expression, "We should be gathering wood." Leo sighed sadly and walked to stand by Adam.

"Man. I wish I hadn't thrown that party. I can't help but think this is all my fault." Adam patted him on the shoulder.

"Oh, that's because it is all your fault."

"Adam," Bree scoffed, "he was only trying to help us."

"Well, yeah. But he did the opposite, which is not help us. The not makes it the opposite."

"Good for you, Adam." Y/n leaned forward to pat Adam on the shoulder like he did Leo, "You know you're opposites." The boy sighed.

"I'm just bummed. It's the only place we've ever known."

"Yeah," Chase nodded in agreement, "Just think about all the memories we've shared here."

Adam, Bree, and Chase stared off into space. Y/n and Leo tried to see what they were seeing, but it seemed that the three were in their own little world of nostalgia and memories. After a few minutes, they came back to the real world. Small laughs spilled from their mouths. But the Dooley kids just looked at each other confused as could be.
