Anything For You (Chase Davenport x Reader)

First Mission

Y/n groaned as she stumbled out of her chamber. Davenport had woken the kids up to do some training. It wasn't that bad so far. She'd be a little sore though.

"Oh hey, nice of you to join us." Bree patted her sleepy friend on the head.

"It's bad enough we have to sleep standing up. If we have to sleep in a glass cage, can we at least do it Snow White style?" Adam furrowed his eyebrows.

"What's Snow White?" Y/n looked at Adam concerned.

"Okay, all I'm hearing is we need to have a Disney marathon."

"Get ready, kids!" Davenport clapped his hands to get their attention. "Today we're doing strength training. Then afterward we're gonna focus on a single ability from each of you. Adam, laser vision. Bree, agility. Chase, force fields. Y/n, electrokinesis. Now, let's go to the gym."

The kids started to walk out of the lab, Davenport behind them.

"Y/n, maybe you should change into some better clothes for this," Davenport suggested. Y/n stopped and turned around. She stared at Davenport dead in the eye.

"It's bad enough I have to do this three days a week plus my actual gym class. The pajamas stay on. Don't push it." Y/n continued to follow the Davenports into the gym.

"Okay, we're gonna do a three in one now. Adam, you're going to use your laser vision on Chase. Chase, you're going to create a force field to deflect his lasers. And Bree, you'll deflect the laser bouncing off with your agility. But, you're going to be facing the other way, use your senses. Get ready guys!" The three mentioned kids moved to their positions while Davenport and his step kids moved behind one of the counters to watch. Adam, Bree, and Chase stood in a 'V' shape equal distance from each other. Bree stood with her back towards her brothers.

"Whenever you're ready, Adam." Adam nodded and looked at Chase.

"This is gonna be cool," Leo whispered to Y/n. She nodded back.

Adam shot a laser at Chase, who immediately conjured a force field around himself. The laser hit and bounced off towards Bree. Despite not being able to see what was coming at her, she ducked at the exact right moment. The laser hit the wall with a sizzle.

"Nice work, guys!" Davenport, Y/n, and Leo clapped. "Okay, Y/n. You're up."

Y/n stood in the middle of the room while Adam, Bree, and Chase hung out by Leo. She looked at Davenport for instructions.

"Here's what I want you to do. I want you to turn the lights off and back on again." Y/n looked at her step dad confused.

"I don't know where the light switch is."

"The light switch is right," Davenport walked over and held Y/n's hands up to her face. "Here."

"Can't I just zap Adam? I know how to do that."

"No, it feels too tingly." Adam pouted. Davenport laughed and looked at Y/n.

"I want you to be able to develop and advance your abilities. You know how to run and do math problems off the top of your head. This is something I think you need the most help on. Just focus and turn off the lights." Y/n nodded. Davenport went to the rest of the kids and they all watched her. She held her hands out in front of her. Her brows furrowed and her hands started to shake a little.

Tiny zaps of light came from the tips of her fingers. The more she focused, the bigger the light. Lightning bolts covered her palms, crackling as the light from one hand connected to the other.
