The day has come. The day where I have to pick between doing something I want to do, and lying to my parents. This is not going to end well, oh well! I need to get used to it if I want to start hanging out with Nikoru. I'm not sure if my phase of when I thought she looked cute is over yet, but lets hope so.

"Mom, dad, I am going out with Rinoka to do Bible study, I won't be back until late tonight, do I have your permission? No, that's too forced! What should I say?" I thought to myself as I was pacing around my bedroom.

I have never lied to my parents before, so this was very difficult. I never want to let my parents down, but in this case I have to.

Just as I was thinking up another thing to say, I heard my fathers foot steps getting louder and louder. I know what he was doing....

he was going to ask me about school.

I frantically tried to get to my desk to make it look like I was doing work, which I sort of was, just not schoolwork.

Just as I sat down in my squeaky desk chair, there was a knock on my door.

"Keitorin, may I come in?" My dad asked in light and soft tone, even though there was nothing light or soft about him.

"Ummm.... sure dad, one second!" I said, rushing to hide my night bag underneath my bed.

"What are you doing in there?!" My dad questioned in an angry tone. He was now sounding more like himself.

"Ohhh, uhhhh.... just fixing the broom!" I stupidly said. I could have said anything in the entire dictionary, but I chose to say that? Idiotic is all I have to say about that.

"YOU DON'T HAVE A BROOM!!!" My dad yelled, furious at this point.

"I mean... uhhh..." I said nervously, trying to throw my bag in the closest because under my bed was like a jungle and I would never be able to find my bag again.

"I'M COMING IN!" My dad said in the angriest tone possible, while bursting through my door.

"Hi dad!" I calmly said, acting as though everything was completely normal.

"What was that all about?" my dad asked me looking very confused.

"What was what?" I replied to my dad, sounding snarky.

"Don't play smart with me, what was all of that sound?!" My dad said, while sitting on my bed.

"Anyway, what do you need?" I said trying to start a conversation, while pretending to do Math homework.

"I was just wondering how your day was at school. It's pretty typical, I can't believe you weren't expecting that!" My dad chuckled, which he was not good at. His laugh sounded kind of like a horse and a chicken.

"Hah, I don't know either! Anyway it was pretty good, I do have a lot of math homework though, and I hate math homework!" I said while scribbling down random things on a piece of paper from my binder.

"We don't use the word hate in this house! Do you need to go to Christian Camp for another week?" My dad said, sounding annoyed. He doesn't like when I use words like that, so I usually never use them. But in this situation, I thought it would be okay to use the word.

"No, anything but that!" I said in a worried tone, while trying to pull out my Bible. Whenever I pull out my Bible my dad seems to get in a better mood.

"Oh, I see you are going to read the Bible! I will leave you alone then." My dad said, in a better tone then before. I think I know more about my dad than he thinks.

"Dad before you go, I would like to ask you something" I said while starting to crack my knuckles.

"Of course honey, what is it?" My dad calmly said.

I was sweating. This was the first time I lied to my parents, and this was not going well. I am usually a perfect child, and now I'm resulting to this! Well, at least it will be worth it, hopefully...

"Am I allowed to go to Rinoka's to do a Bible Study tonight? I might not be back until around 10 or 11." I said while having a stream of guilt rush through my body. I felt guilt and shame, but it jad to be done if I wanted to go to the café.

"Ok, well my answer is..."

Here it comes...

"No"
