Sarah > He has the whole city at his feet and enough power to make any incidents related to his sons disappear into thin air. He never leaves anything to chance. You'll never find anything on him. He makes sure he never leaves anything behind that could compromise him in any way.

Maybe I should listen to her and move out while I still have the chance...

> God... I don't know what to do...

Sarah > You're my friend, Lina. What I suggest you do is to get the hell out of that house!

> I don't know. They're... Perfectly nice with me! Apart from Lorie's awful character and their weird lifestyle, I'm not unhappy! Since no one will tell me anything! I'll do it on my own!

Sarah is scowling. But she can't act like my good friend and carry on being so mysterious about it all.

When we arrive outside our classroom, we're both in a sullen mood. We stop the discussion. We don't want to draw attention to ourselves. It still keeps running through my head. I rethink every detail: cold, pale skin, lack of reflection, superhuman strength, bloody garbage cans... Several theories obviously come to mind. I'm going to get to the bottom of this after class...

After the last class of the day, Sarah tells me that she's much less enthusiastic about the rest of her courses than she is for Dr. Jones' class.

Sarah > That professor really has a funny way of explaining things. I was so sure I'd like this course, but she ruined everything!

> You can always put your notes together differently and make revision cards. I think the important thing is how you work outside the class.

Sarah > Yeah, you're right...

I start heading for the library. Sarah calls out to me.

Sarah > It's still early! Do you want to go into town for a drink before you go home?

I'm tempted, but I remember I've already planned stuff for this afternoon. I've been preoccupied all day with questions about the Bartholys. Even my note-taking was pretty crappy. I'll go to the library instead. I found out some stuff about Mia Cooper. I'm going to do the same with the Bartholys. After all, they're part of some old Mystery Spell family. I'm sure I'll find some clues... It's just that... I'd like to do it alone. I'd rather keep Sarah out of it for now. I don't feel like she's very receptive anyway. I don't really know what I'm going to find and I'll always be able to talk to her about it afterwards... depending on how the situation evolves.

> Sorry, I want to work at the library for another hour or two...

Sarah > OK... I'll go with you then!

Great! How can I get rid of her now? My brain is running at breakneck speed. I have a great idea. It's a little treacherous, but never mind.

> Sure thing! It'll be more fun with three of us!

Sarah freezes.

Sarah > Three of us?

> Yeah, remember... I told you about the study sessions I've been doing with Peter? He's probably already waiting for me...

End of discussion.

Sarah > Oh! I'm sorry, but I just remembered that I have a couple of errands to run in town...

I hold in a smile. That was too easy.

> Oh, no! Too bad...

Sarah > I'll see you tomorrow.
