As I go down to the dining-room in the evening. Today's events are still foremost in my mind. What a day! As if discovering the university and the courses weren't enough. I got to know Sarah better, and I also got a little closer to Peter. Well, it seems that I didn't just make friend either. As I think about Samantha and Loan, I start to worry. If those two always behave like that they haven't finished causing me problems! I hope that things will calm down soon. For the first time since my arrival at the mansion, the dining room is empty. Since everything's ready, I take a seat. I'm so hungry! While I'm wondering whether I should wait or help myself right away, Nicolae joins me.

Nicolae > Good evening, Lina! So how was your day?

> Hectic!

Nicolae > I wasn't expecting such an answer! Things were as bad as that?

> The classes were ok, I only had three hours in all and we mainly talked about the coming year.

Nicolae > Repetitive but essential, no doubt. Did you make any friends?

> More or less, I met up with a girl I met on the day I arrived, a certain Sarah Osborne. We met briefly on the day I registered, and I saw her again today.

Nicolae > Sarah Osborne, you say?

> Yes, that's it. Do you know her?

I guess it's not very subtle of me but maybe I'll find out more. But Nicolae is cautious. He doesn't trust people that easily.

Nicolae > Our families were linked in the past, but that's no longer the case.

I sink back into my seat.

> I like her.

Nicolae > A word of warning if I may? Be wary of her.

After all, Sarah says the same. So I'm not surprised and I prefer not to go into details for the time being. I shall probably end up getting to the bottom of the reasons for the animosity between the Osbornes and the Bartholys. Just then Peter joins us and settles down next to me.

Peter > Drogo told me a little more about your run-in with Loan. That guy is a real moron...

I was convinced that Drogo didn't care. And Peter seems quite worried.

> Everything's fine, Drogo arrived at the right moment, as I said earlier.

Nicolae and Peter exchange a glance. I don't know what to make of it.

Peter > It's just like him!

I start helping myself to some food, as the boys don't seem hungry and I'm simply starving. That's all very well, but I'm famished!

> By the way, I was planning to go out into town on Saturday evening, I hope that's not a problem, could we set up a weekly timetable?

Nicolae > What do you mean, a weekly timetable?

I stare at him for a moment. Maybe his father didn't tell him...

> Is your father coming back soon? He spoke to me about it on the phone and we were going to discuss it when I arrived.

Nicolae > Not in the immediate future, I'm afraid, but as I already said you can deal with me in his absence.

> Well, it was agreed that I would have a day off, as well as one or two evening to myself every week.

Silence. Well. Apparently, they don't like my request. Nicolae even seems hostile to this arrangement. Peter seems to be holding back, but I can see he's worried.
