Zantana's POV

Today, my father was finally allowing me to go to bisit the team again. He had important business to discuss there with the League, something about lights and silence, but I wasn't really paying attention, I was just so excited to see the team again. Something awesome always happened when I was with them.

"You ready?" He asked before stepping into the Zeta tube.

"Always." I said and went in.

The computer announced out arrival and the team ran up to me and pulled me away without a single word. I was curious to say the least and I didn't mind my father being suspicious because he didn't know what the team was up to, so I stayed quiet.

They pulled me into the kitchen and sat me down next to Kaldur, who smiled, amused. Everyone else crowded around.

"Did you hear? About Max?" Robin asked.

"Who? Is there a new team member?" I asked.

"No. We were sent to capture this girl, Max, and she totally deflected all of our attacks before Conner had to hold her still for Robin to tranq her." Wally said.

"Yeah, the League is going to question her in a few minutes, after finishing the debriefing. Want to go watch?" Artemis said, as if watching a girl get interrogated was the next best thing since riding rollercoasters.

"Sure." I said casually.

"Aster!" Robin said and ran of, Wally following close behind.

The team and I walked to the overview room for the interrogation room and looked through the glass. The League hadn't arrived yet and the only person watching the girl, Max, was Martian Manhunter, who was probably being debriefed mentally.

Finally, most of the League came into the overview room, while Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman all went into the interrogation room with Max and Martian Manhunter.

I noticed that the Flash was neither with us or them.

Superman and Wonder Woman sat down in the two chairs across from Max. Batman remained standing.

Superman spoke first, "Why is the Light after you?"

Max stared at him.

Superman stared back before rephrasing, "Why are you being chased by villains?"

She continued to stare. Superman opened his mouth again, but Wonder Woman cut in.

"She is mute, remember?"

Batman's lips twitched upwards slightly. Max continued to stare at Superman.

"Well, can someone get a paper?" He asked.

"Are you suggesting that we take an uncooperative capitive, out of handcuffs? And give her a pencil?" Batman asked slowly, talking as if Superman was an ignorant child.

"I vote we do it!" Flash said, bursting in with paper and a pencil.

"Why are we not just reading her mind?" Batman sighed as the Flash unlocked one of her handcuffs and put the paper and pencil down in front of her.

"Because we have the lasso of truth." Wonder Woman said, rolling her eyes and wrapping it around Max's wrist.

"Now," Superman said, "why is the Light after you?"

Max didn't move, just continued to stare at Superman.

"I won't ask again. Answer the question because you don't want Batman to ask." Superman said as darkly and as intimidating as possible.
