Broken Friendship

I thought Our friendship
Was a treasure to cherish forever;
Instead, it rusted quickly &
Became yesterday's news,
Forever friends? No, never.

I regret meeting you
My heart won't stop hurting inside;
You became a stranger, someone
I wasn't familiar with,
I wish my pain could hide.

But the scars are visible
They're not hard to miss;
Regret & shame are written all over,
A broken soul is all that's left
Of this.

I'll just turn away & let my
Tears speak for me;
My voice is too choked up
To speak anymore,
And hearing your harsh words
Behind my back,
Hurt more than bullets but my
Heart's starting to bleed.

Goodbye ex-best friend
My once "soul sibling" till
The end of time;
You've succeeded in destroying
My spirit & crushing me &
Leaving me for dead,
I regret believing in friendly lies.
