I promised you I'd be there
For you anytime anyway;
Instead I broke that promise by
Pretending you never existed,
I fear our friendship will start to
Quickly fade away.
Why did I make that mistake?
My heart is heavy with guilt;
I am so sorry for making you think
That you did something wrong,
I've betrayed the friendship that
We'd both built.
Please don't hate me
Please don't close the door in
My face;
Not only will I feel brokenhearted,
I'll feel so out of place.
But if you must ignore me
Then the lonesome road has now
Been properly set;
Farewell, dear friend, I'll miss
The good times we were going to make,
That's going to be my biggest regret.
