Song Recommendation - Overwhelmed - (Royal and The Serpent)

The small lavender object swung side to side slowly, the dainty chain rattling with each swing, as the (Eye Colour) eyed person stared at it intently.

"I'm glad to know you kept this safe for me."

An audible scratch pierced through the air as the heavy object dragged against the wooden floor.

"Of course, I kept it safe for you. Who do you think I am? Tommy?"

Technoblade scoffed, exhaling sharply as he pushed the large chest into a small compartment, slamming the trapdoor shut atop it.

"I mean, both you and Tommy-"

Technoblade raised his hand, signaling for them to stop.

"Don't answer that," his sharp gaze focused straight into their (Eye Colour) eyes.

(Your Name) rolled their eyes, leaning back against the comfortable chair they sat in, curling their legs up to their chest. Their head rested against their knees, their left cheek smushed against the warmth of their cloak (which they had draped over themself as a blanket), eyes locked onto the burning fire.

Orange flames danced as the fire crackled, sputtering with life. It reminded them of their younger days. When Wilbur, Tommy, and Technoblade had lived together with Philza, they lived in a clearing, next to a river by the woods. Every year, they'd get together during December, drinking hot chocolate that was often paired with whip creamed, as they all sat together by the fire.

Usually, it was Tommy and (Your Name) who were the coldest. They would always get creamed by the two older males in their annual snowball fight. The wool blankets were always the softest, and (Your Name) could recall Tommy being the first to fall asleep, which was when the two older siblings and themself would sneak to eat fresh gingerbread cookies that Phil had left on the counter to cool down.

No matter how long ago Phil had left, he always seemed to catch them in the act, and yet it was one of the few times he'd laugh their antics off, letting them have a cookie or two each, before shooing them off.

Looking back, (Your Name)'s eyes crinkled as they cringed at their past self. They had been full of life, of joy, and pure, ignorant bliss. They had always thought that it would always be that way, where every single year would bring joy. They had always been a nefelibata; running with the wind, soaring through the skies, dancing atop of stars that sparkled in the night sky.

The first to leave was Wilbur. He craved adventure, a true gadabout at heart, someone who kept searching and searching on and on for things that would make them happy with life. Of course, Wilbur was and would always be a man who would never be satisfied.

As expected, Tommy was quick to follow. After he had first experienced his first trouvaille, the day he had convinced Wilbur to let him tag along to explore a nearby forest they hadn't been in before, he had met his best friend, Tubbo. If only this wouldn't h̶a̶v̶e̶ c̶o̶n̶t̶r̶i̶b̶u̶t̶e̶d̶, contribute to his future downfall, it would have truly been a glorious day. Unfortunately, he believed that lady luck would always be by his side, blessing him with luck his whole life.

They left home, sending letters by birds or wandering traders whom they paid, to deliver the news of their little yet beautiful town that they called L'manburg. At first, (Your Name) was happy for the two, just like Technoblade and Philza had been. However, it was the first time in December that the boys didn't return home as they had promised.

Soon, Technoblade had decided to go out on more travels himself as well. He was always out of the house, rarely home, and when he was, he was there to store his treasures and to rest. The soil began to dry and become infertile, dispersing many animals as they searched for a new ecosystem where they would be able to eat and thrive. Now, that would have been fine for the three, but since the soil had begun to become infertile, crops rarely grew and food had become scarce.

Even though he would never say it aloud, Technoblade knew that there was only one option if he wanted to keep his family afloat in the village they lived in. While (Your Name) had come to understand why he needed to leave so often, they couldn't help the bitter feeling that crept into their heart. Hireath had tainted the once happy thoughts that filled their head, leaving them sad and lonely often.

The last to leave was (Your Name). They took the time to travel over to L'manburg, visiting Wilbur and Tommy, reconnecting with old friends, and creating new friends from the neighboring territory known as the Dream SMP. They continued to stay with Phil for the most part, not wanting him to be alone.

However, they knew that they couldn't keep traveling great distances and back, so that they were able to reconnect with their friends and family. (Your Name) came to a decision, to build a home between the two places, so that they could travel to spend a day with either Wilbur and Tommy or Techno and Philza more easily.

Before they left the cozy cottage that they had once lived in with the infamous Sleepy Bois, they took off their pendant; it was a Fire Agate pendant, held up by small yet strong silver chains. The floorboards creaked underneath their weight as they walked as lightly as they could towards Technoblade's desk.

Soft snores escaped the said man, who had returned from a long tireless journey, where he had been unfortunate enough to run into trouble, resulting in most of the loot he had found to be abandoned to allow himself to escape the unforgiving force known as death.

They pressed a small gentle kiss on his cheek, before leaving the room, making sure to softly shut the door so that he wouldn't be disturbed.

"Thank you Technoblade," (Your Name) looked back towards the house, before walking down the path.

"Thanks for being someone who I could always count on..." They broke their gaze away from the crackling fire, offering him a small smile.

As dawn had arrived, (Your Name) was gone, allowing the rising sun to guide them through the dark sky. The house had been cleaned by them before they were gone, leaving no trace of their existence, as if they had never been there.

Or so it had seemed; when Technoblade woke up from his slumber, he took note of the small brown and red pendant on his desk next to his bed. His lips twitched, a small smile painted on his face, as he grasped the object, holding it close to his chest before turning over, going back to sleep...
