The shadow had followed Angel all the way to a broken down home and was stopped when it hit a curse-inflicted forcefield at the edge of the lawn. It was strong and didn't allow any magical creatures of ill-intent in the area. Interesting...the shadow waited several hours until Angel came out again. He took note of the new clothes and the smile on the spider's face. He entered the limousine and Ace followed the car back to the hotel. His master wouldn't be pleased with the fact he could not infiltrate the happenings of the house. Master may have to take this into his own hands...

The shadow moved fast ahead of the car and zoomed right back to his rightful owner, appearing before Alastor who was reading a book as of now. Alastor licked his finger and turned a page.

"Found anything useful my dear friend?" He asked the dark shadow. Ace only smiled at him in a creepy grin.

"Come to me," he spoke and immediately the shadow united with its owner.

Alastor absorbed the memories of his shadow and smirked a bit at the force-field. A curse huh? This was new information. As far as Angel was concerned, he didn't seem to pick up on the magical force-field. He was unaware. Only a being as strong as Alastor could possibly create a barrier of that nature. Perhaps this 'Cree' was hiding something. The shadow had witnessed conversation between the driver and Angel, revealing his true name. Alastor had sifted through Angel's files earlier but nothing of use came from Angel's track record. Nor did he care about what took place between this Cree and Angel. But he was very curious about the magical proportions this place upheld. Only ones who dare step foot in magic would sense this barrier.

He set the book down and dug deeper in the shadow's memories, the feeling of the barrier. It had protection priorities, and rejected dark magic, eliminating his spies. He wondered what could be of use to protect? Nothing was there but a broken building. It was territory nonetheless and yet it remained almost uninhabitable. He needed to understand why this turf was not being fought over at this very moment. Strange, very strange. He would have to touch the earth itself to retain any memory of struggle or talk personally to the owner.

This man named, Cree...He did not recognize the name. He would know of any other overlord. He knew almost everything about his new home, yet found there was more hidden than there was obvious.

He thought over his plan before going back to his book.

"Good job, Ace."

.........

Angel had gone into work right after breakfast at the hotel. He had a lot of photo-shooting to do today. He hoped Val was in a good mood today. He was walking into the lobby when he noticed Vox leaning against the counter, talking to the clerk. He grimaced at Angel before waltzing up to him.

"My, my, you seemed to be a chipper mood lately. Valentino's been telling me you have been raking in the money. Some special client, eh?" He pried at the spider, and Angel immediately raised his hackles.

"Since when did you care about what I do," Angel spat at him.

"Well, just curious as to why your attitude changed so quickly. Val may be a bit blinded by money but I'm more inquisitive than that." He squinted through his digital eyes.

Angel Dust hated this jerk. He couldn't be happy, could he?

"Well, it's none of your damn business, got it?" He growled as he sashayed his way around him, "And if Val is happy with it, who cares what you wanna know," He scathed Vox with his sharp tongue. Vox seethed a bit as Angel walked off to his room.

Angel would not get away with it, Vox was going to find out what Angel was hiding.

This time he would keep Valentino out of it. He walked to Velvet's office, preferring her company over Val's. He walked in to find her taking a selfie at her desk and plopped down in a soft chair. She didn't look up as she posed again.
